Real Techniques Retractable Bronzer Brush Review

It took me long to grab Real Techniques brushes and I am so glad to get my hands on them. I’m so in love with all their brushes, that I don’t think I can really do away without any of them. Today, I will be reviewing one of their travel-apt brushes. If you love carrying makeup in your bag, then you should seriously read this.

My Experience with Real Techniques Retractable Bronzer Brush:

This Real Techniques brush comes in an outer transparent plastic packaging that holds all the details pertaining to the product. The brush is packed securely in the box that looks similar to most of their other makeup brushes. The body is made of golden aluminium handle and has a transparent yellow cap to it. The packaging is quite sleek and easy to hold. As you pull the lid away from the base, a protective metal sleeve emblazoned with Real Techniques pulls up to protect the bristles. To use the brush, the sleeve is simply pushed down to reveal the super soft bristles.

Once you’ve finished with the brush and want to replace the lid, you have to pull up the protective sleeve to hold the bristles together for the lid to slide back on effortlessly. I really like how smooth the sleeve moves within the base, and how it prevents the bristles from being damaged, or caught in the lid.

The retractable bronzer brush is a duo fiber brush, it has white fibers on top and dark black ones below, both with different textures. So, when you pick up the product, then you will only be picking it up with the white bristles and when you work on the product and blend it in, then black bristles will help you to do so. You end up getting a nice blended finish without much effort.

I find this brush a little too large for bronzer application. Instead I use it to apply powder foundations, loose powder and even cream and powder blushes, to get an amazing finish without the need of carrying multiple brushes. When you have finished applying makeup, you can just pull the sleeve up, pop the lid and carry it in your handbag without the fear of contaminating the bristles.

The design of the retractable element of the brush is really well thought out, as one thing I have always found very frustrating about retractable brushes is the fact that a lot of the bristles get caught in the lid and repositioned, giving the brush quite a limited shelf life. As you can see in the pictures, the pull out casing fits the brush head perfectly making it quick and easy to position the lid correctly without catching any of the bristles.

I’m a huge fan of my Real Techniques brushes, the Buffing Brush is definitely in my top 3 brushes, but it is not exactly travel-friendly. So, I really had to get their Retractable Bronzer Brush. This is a fully portable brush, easy to clean as their home versions and I love the way I can control the density of the brushes by pulling the retractable surround further up or down.

As the bristles are synthetic, it is quite easy to clean the bristles and it dries fast too. There is no color bleeding from the bristles or shedding after cleaning the brush.

Real Techniques retractable bronzer brush is both a travel-friendly and retractable brush, housed in sturdy packaging which would would make it very long lasting. The Bronzer Brush is extremely soft and can be used for either bronzer or finishing powder. I love how versatile this brush is, in that it could be used to apply cream blush, cream bronzer, powder products or even liquid… so it’s the perfect handbag staple. Do get this brush as soon as you can!!!
