Today I am reviewing an awesome hair mask from a well-known haircare brand Redken. I have recently highlighted my hair with a few streaks and was feeling the dryness taking over and had to do something before it totally ruined my hair. I got this mask from my salon on the recommendation of my hairdresser.
Redken’s sulfate-free hair mask for color treated hair uses zinc gluconate and IPN technology to extend the life of your hair color and strengthens the hair fiber & strands with intense replenishment to leave your hair feeling softer, smoother and more fortified.
Strengthens strands with intense replenishment Zinc Gluconate, known for its color retention properties, attracts to the color molecules trapping them into the hair fiber to help preserve color richness Contains Redken’s signature IPN technology Color-treated hair is 3x fortified.* Powered by supercharged amino-ions. Attract to the hair fiber Polymerize to create a hydrophobic barrier Help seal in color molecules
How to use: After shampooing with Color Extend Magnetics Shampoo, apply to towel-dried hair. Comb through with wide tooth comb. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse. Use as a weekly treatment in place of Color Extend Magnetics Conditioner.
Price and Quantity: $20.50 for 8.5 OZ (250 g) from Ulta beauty.
This deep conditioning mask comes in a tub packaging which might not seem very good but since it is a thick mask, no other way of packaging is going to work.
My Experience With Redken Color Extend Magnetics Deep Attraction Mask:
As I said, the highlighting procedure was taking a toll on my hair and I needed to do something to make it more shiny and bouncy as I was noticing a lot of dryness and frizz as well as hay like hair with lot of static. The regular shampoo and conditioner was doing more harm than good to me so, I asked my stylist to recommend me something that could help.
The hairdresser is a sweet lady and talks and explains with a lot of patience. I got this mask on her advice. This range from Redken is specially targeted towards the color treated hair. I use this mask weekly on washed and towel dried hair and leave for 20-30 minutes with a shower cap on. The smell is very mild and florally but not disturbing for the nose. The mask is very creamy and gel like and spreads like a dream. The mask leaves the hair soft and shiny with a lot of body and bounce once washed off with water.
I try and use the coldest water as it helps lock shine. I can say that this mask was a great find for me because I was not very happy with the store conditioners at all. The best part is that it doesn’t make the hair greasy as most conditioners do. I can see my hair look and feel stronger with the use of this mask as well as the hair color life is more extended.
Pros of Redken Color Extend Magnetics Deep Attraction Mask:
• Makes hair shiny.
• Makes hair more fortified.
• No greasiness.
• Protects color treated hair.
Cons of Redken Color Extend Magnetics Deep Attraction Mask:
• None but it’s a bit on the expensive side.
IMBB Rating: 5/5
