Redken Color Extend Shampoo Review

I would be reviewing a color protecting shampoo by Redken. I am in search for a perfect shampoo since I have added highlights to my hair.. I got this one from the salon I visit and picked it up as I had heard a lot of good things about it.

My Experience with Redken Color Extend Shampoo:

Redken Color Extend Shampoo Review5

This is the biggest size available and since it is so good I got the biggest size available. It’s a normal plastic bottle with a flip open cap. The small bottle might be good for travel, but not this one due to its bulky size. But, it’s sturdy and does its job well.

Redken Color Extend Shampoo Review8

As I had mentioned earlier, my newly highlighted hair has been stripped off all shine and moisture and due to this, I have been taking extra care to make them look gorgeous and shiny. I have been using this shampoo for a month now along with Redken Color Extend Magnetics Deep Attraction Mask. The main reason I got this shampoo was for protecting and making my colored and damaged hair healthy and shiny again.

Redken Color Extend Shampoo Review7

I had first used this shampoo when I went to the salon for a haircut and liked the results, so I ordered this. I have used it along with the similar conditioner, but somehow it dried up my hair a lot. I was confused if I was doing something wrong, but this shampoo didn’t work as well as I had expected and since then I have used it after a deep conditioning with oil and that seems to work. This shampoo is okayish, but not as great as I had expected at all. This does give my hair color a new life after the wash, but makes the hair a bit dry too, which of course if undesirable. Overall, I have mixed feelings for it!

  1. I get serious commitment issues when I look at shampoo bottles that huge! I feel it’s gonna last really long and will make me feel guilty if the shampoo didn’t turn out to be great. 😀 I am really tempted to highlight my hair but I know color calls for special TLC.

  2. I don’t prefer to buy such huge bottles of shampoo coz I get bored with them very frequently. Though it seems like a promising product, I only use color protect shampoos if I have got my entire hair color changed..
