Today, I’m reviewing Redken’s Curvaceous Full Swirl Curly and Wavy Hair Cream Serum. This cream serum has been my go-to product for over a year now, it’s everything a curly-haired girl needs. I have type 2B curls that frizz up like wild when it’s humid outside. Most products, I’ve tried to tame the frizz, haven’t helped me as well as this one from Redken did. This cream-serum cuts down my frizz by 70% even when it’s raining.

My Experience with Redken Curvaceous Full Swirl Curly and Wavy Hair Cream Serum:
This is a 150ml product and it lasts for around 6 months. It has a pump bottle which makes the application super easy. 2B curls are pretty hard to maintain since they’re not curly enough to maintain their own shape, and yet not straight enough to remain straight. Most days, (without this product) I end up with this awkward wavy mop on my head.
So, here’s how I use this product. I wash my hair the night before, just by using my usual shampoo and conditioner. The next morning, I’ll dampen my hair a bit, and apply a pea-sized amount of the Full Swirl cream on my hair from middle to bottom, focusing on the ends. I’ll section my hair and put them up in foam rollers. Once my hair is dry, I’ll take the rollers out and run my fingers through my hair to loosen up the curls. This product really helps in keeping my curls tight and in place. Sometimes, I’ll even use this as a heat-protecting agent to create a layer between my hair and my flat iron.
This cream-serum has a very thick, sticky consistency. But, that’s exactly, why it works so well. It almost locks my curl pattern into place. With most frizz-fighting serums, I don’t really feel like they have enough hold to keep my hair from turning into a frizzy poodle. Although, if you use too much of this serum or use it on your wet hair, it can turn up to be a bit crunchy. You can get rid of the crunchiness by brushing your hair out.

- Doesn’t feel greasy at all.
- Lightweight.
- Pleasant smell.
Cons of Redken Curvaceous Full Swirl Curly and Wavy Hair Cream Serum:
- Doesn’t tame 100% frizz.
- If you apply it on wet hair, it might dry up to be a bit crunchy.
- It’s very sticky.
- Doesn’t add shine.
- This product will create buildup after 2-3 applications.
- This product will transfer on to heat styling tools.

Will I Recommend/Repurchase Redken Curvaceous Full Swirl Curly and Wavy Hair Cream Serum?
I probably wouldn’t recommend this for straight hair. It’ll be way too heavy for fine hair.
