Tips To Reduce Waxing Pain – Do’s and Don’ts

how to reduce wax pain

Waxing has several advantages but then it has some unpleasant disadvantages too. No Pain No Gain.
Here are some tips that will help you reduce the pain. :))

Do’s:

:haanji: Talc: Talc (or baby powder) will absorb sweat and oil, so that wax can stick easily and pull out hair at once.

:haanji: Trim: Trim off the hair using scissors to about 1/4 inch before waxing, if the hair is too long. Β You may end up ripping the hairs off instead of pulling them out by the root. Then you will have to wax again, which will cause more pain.

:haanji: Heat: Apply heat. Use a warm cloth and rub it over your skin. Or take a hot shower before waxing. It will dilate your pores and hair will come out easily.

:haanji: Breathe: Relax yourself. Enduring pain will be easy when you’re breathing normally. Don’t stiffen yourself or hold your breath. Take a deep breath in when the wax goes on, and then breathe out when the strip is pulled.

:haanji:Exfoliate: Scrub the area before getting it waxed. It will remove dead cells; will clean the pores, so hair will come out easily. Do this a day before the waxing, it is a basic hygiene method.

:haanji:Pain killer: Well if the pain is really unbearable for you, the popping an aspirin an hour before your waxing, will stave off pain and make it more bearable. This is especially helpful when getting waxed above the lip, chest, bikini and genital areas- where it hurts the most.

:haanji: Turn your head and cough: : Turn your head and coughing as the strip is about to be removed, the cough distracts you from the pain. πŸ˜€

:haanji: Speak up: Don’t hesitate to tell your parlour lady if the pain is too much to handle. They will try their best to make the session more comfortable.

:haanji: Post Time of the month: As if waxing wasn’t bad enough, we have to carefully time when we get it done as well. It has been proven that your pain threshold is higher after your period rather than before, so opt to getting waxed the week after your period has subsided.

Don’ts

:nonono: Don’t apply astringent or toner: This will tighten the pore and waxing will be more painful then.

:nonono: Don’t use ice for numbing: People think that ice numbs the area and it will reduce the pain. But it actually tightens the pore. It’s the same as above; pores should be nice and relaxed.

:nonono: Don’t drink a lot of caffeine or alcohol: Getting relaxed is a good idea, but this causes skin to get extra sensitive. Your skin will be much more sensitive than normally. Avoid consuming those mentioned above at least 2-3 hours before the process. Instead, drink a lot of water to hydrate your body and skin.

:nonono: Don’t wax right before your period: You are tenderer that time. Also hormones make hair coarser making it prone to breaking off.

Threading doesn’t hurt me. Waxing hurts only if I use hot wax and do it on myself. If I use cold wax or someone else waxes me with hot wax, it hardly hurts.
    Do I have rhino skin? ?:) ?:) ?:) ?:) :stars:
