Remington Silk Curling Wand CI96W1 Review

I had never previously used a conical curling wand and I am currently always sporting the “curly hair look.” I use rollers and those bendy wands too, but still, a full head of curls using a conical wand is a class apart. Also, I could use this to define some left out hair when using hot rollers. This is a purchase from England last year as I have not seen this in India yet. Read on to find out how it works in the review below 🙂

Product Description:
Beautiful hair, as if by magic – introducing the Remington Silk Curling Wand. Whether you want to create a professional looking finish or channel ‘just out of bed’ curls, you can achieve the desired effect without spending time and money in a salon. The Remington Silk Curling Wand is part of the Silk collection of appliances that have been specially designed to help you to achieve professional style at home. Whatever your hair type, whatever its length, the Silk Wand will transform your tresses into a cascade of loose, silky curls or glamorous spiral curls. It has a ceramic coated barrel for even heat distribution and it comes with a heat resistant mitt protect your hands as you style and a mat to protect your surfaces.

My Experience with Remington Silk Curling Wand CI96W1:

I have been loving it so far. I love how defined the curls look when I use this wand. This Remington wand can be placed so that the bottom curls are thick or thin, I always wrap the hair near the scalp on the thicker side of the wand, so the curl is tapered and thin at the bottom.

It heats up to 220 degrees in more than a minute. The lowest of 180 degrees can be used for fine hair if you have less frizz and volume in your hair. Fine hair gets best curled with a low temperature. Heat protectant mist is a must for all hair types when using high temperatures. The medium heat settings are good for hair that is easy to tame and mould. But in case you have thicker and frizzy hair, even though curly, you could use 220 degrees setting to keep the curls in place for a longer time.

You could use this wand with some curling aids, like a cream or a mousse. You could also spray your hair lightly with setting spray before and after the curl. I usually spray my hair with a shine mist like Osmo, after curling. The curls tend to look dry for my hair, but this wand is way better in adding some shine to my hair than a flat iron. The curls stay in place for 4-5 hours, but if you are expecting a full day of curls, that cannot be achieved without a very strong hold hair spray. The curls tend to loosen up and become more voluminous. I run my fingers through the curls once done and spray them with L’Oreal Elnett spray.

The heat-safe bag and the glove/mitt are super useful. I wear the mitt on the left hand where I hold the wand after wrapping the hair. The wand also has an in-built stand-like structure where you could place it straight without burning your furniture down.
