Hello everyone,
I thought of taking and giving a break to lipsticks after the marathon reviews of Colorbar lipsticks and lip stains. So, here is the review of the newly-launched products in the “Colorstay” range. There are 3 shades and thanks to IMBB, I picked all three 😛 Starting here with the review of the black one – the other two shades would be up soon 🙂
Price:
Rs. 650/- for 0.28 gm.
My Experience with Revlon Black Noir Colorstay Eyeliner:
The eyeliner pencil comes in the typical packaging that all kohls come these days. Detailed information is given on the back of the packaging. The pencil is a twist-up one with a color coded cap. As it’s the black shade, you would not notice it (wait for the following shades’ review). There is a smudger and tip sharpener at the base of the pencil. The smudger tip is a pretty hard sponge, which is protected with a transparent cap. Packaging-wise, it is functional and smart.
The shade is matte black but the pigmentation is a poor story. It is “light” black and does not come out as an intense black when used on the waterline. There is no shimmer or glossy look to the black, it’s a plain and simple matte black; that’s it!
The texture is a sad story, I have to swipe multiple times to get a simple black kohled look. I am very disappointed to say the least.
With this price tag and brand name, I was expecting a lot from these liners. Using it as a liner is a pain as well because due to the hard and dry texture, you have to swipe again and again; and you would still not get the proper lined look.
The staying power is quite okay as I did not want to keep this on for long. The texture was such a turn-off that the tugging and pulling on the lids and waterline actually irritated my eyes.
I would not recommend this to anybody as there are a lot of options available in the market with better texture and intense pigmentation.
Pros of Revlon Black Noir Colorstay Eyeliner:
- Nice packaging.
- Stays long.
- Availability.
Cons of Revlon Black Noir Colorstay Eyeliner:
- Poor pigmentation.
- Hard texture.
- Tugs and pulls lids and waterline.
- Smudger is of no use.
- Pricey, considering the sad nature of the product.
IMBB Rating:
1.5/5

Rash, my vote goes to magneteyes as well. Rash, your eyes, they are so pretty :*
Inspite of the product not being good, Rashmita, the swatch looks beautiful.
Rashmita your swatch makes me wanna try the product . Beautiful eyes there 🙂
Rashmita, no one can look at the pics of your eyes and say that it is a dud product. You have gorgeous bong eyes. Thanks for reviewing this range and sparing others this pain. 😛
Looks more of a greyish shade! Colossal and lakme kajals are better!
Oh no that’s sad. Better options available in the market, like Colorbar and Faces.
