Revlon Color ‘N Care Permanent Hair Color Cream 2N Brown Black Review

Natural hair color – Black
Hair type – dry

A few weeks ago, my sister wanted to experiment a little with my hair and I let her do it. I have never done any chemical treatment on my hair, so I wanted to see how a color would react on my hair. She picked up the shade “Brown-Black” from this new range hair color range of Revlon. Let’s see how it worked:

My Experience with Revlon Color ‘N Care Permanent Hair Color Cream 2N Brown Black:

First of all, the packaging is quite good. The color and developer come in a normal cardboard packaging that has all the details. There is also an instruction manual, a pair of gloves and a sachet of conditioner. Plus, this package came with a free Revlon nail enamel. You need a separate bowl and a brush to mix the color. Overall, the packaging is standard hair color packaging and I do not have any complaints.

The packaging contains ample amount for global hair coverage and you can use it multiple times for touchups, but the conditioner provided can be used just once. Also, I do not like the quality of this nail paint, but then I have never been a Revlon fan.

My sister wanted to create an ombre effect on random places with a hair color shade that’s lighter than my hair color. Since I was a bit apprehensive, she didn’t pick up a very light shade. This one is barely a shade light. Her experiment turned out “quite okay.” The shade almost matches my hair color so you cannot really spot the difference until you are my hairstylist. The color did great, though. I mean it did its job well and this hair color does everything it claims despite being so cheap.

The mixture is quite easy to apply and it spreads easily too. As suggested, I kept the color on my hair for around 45 minutes and then washed it off with water. I had to put in some efforts but it got rinsed out completely. I then applied the conditioner, kept it for around 5 minutes, and then washed it off. The color left me surprised because my hair didn’t feel dry or detangled at all in the shower.

I followed up the coloring process with L’Oreal Tecni Art Serum, and my hair felt soft and smooth upon drying. I was really not expecting my hair to be soft after a hair color; that too after at-home hair coloring. After drying, I noticed that the color was not too prominent, and that’s how I like it yet my sister and I could spot it. I had a few grey strands before the hair color and it covered them so well. The overall effect of this pack is long-lasting color and shiny-looking hair. The color even after days and many washes does not look dull. My hair still looks healthy.

I am using Garnier Ultra Blends Shampoo and Macadamia Deep Conditioning Masque at the mask to take care of my hair. I think you must take extra care of your chemically-treated hair if you wish the effects to last long. I have not used the Colorsilk range or any other premium range of ammonia-free colors but my sister has. As per her, the results and performance of this ‘Color ‘N Care’ range is not as good.

My overall thoughts – this is a good hair color range that covers grey and offers a long-lasting color. It is inexpensive too. It is a good kit for at-home easy hair coloring. You can try it for your grey hair if you find a matching shade. It won’t damage or dry your hair if you follow a proper hair care regimen. Every cheap beauty product need not be a failure. This one works just fine.
