My Experience with Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm No. 210 ‘Unapologetic’
I had hardly been out shopping during March, except once or twice, but on the last day of the month, I visited the mall, and I saw quite a few new launches from various brands and, yes, of course, I had to haul. I hauled the new L’oreal matte lipsticks, 3 of them, the new Lakme eyeshadows, 2 of them, and 2 of these newly launched Revlon matte balms. Oh, I also picked up a gorgeous MAC blush, will review it soon. These matte lip balms have been launched in quite a number of shades, I love how brands these days are launching lovely bright shades apart from the usual reds, maroons and browns, and apart from these, Revlon Colorburst Lacquer balms have also hit the stores (for those who like their sheer finishes). But being a matte lip lover, I just loved these and bought 2 of these. Revlon Colorburst Matte balms are a matte crayon type twist-up (retractable) lipstick, which come in the same kind of packaging as the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains. There is no outer packaging except for a Company sticker and a small bit of cellotape over the middle. The shade Unapologetic is a really bright, neon fuchsia with high coverage matte finish. I would describe it as a hybrid between MAC’s lipsticks Impassioned and Pink Pigeon, please check IMBB for the reviews on these 2 MAC lipsticks.
Being matte, though, it doesn’t pull or tug at the lips during application, and the crayon point makes it easy to outline the lips at the same time and then fill in the rich, pigmented colour. Unapologetic immediately draws full attention to the lips and oh, am loving it. It gives a slightly cooling effect (not tingling) immediately on application, but nothing that causes any burning or discomfort whatsoever and settles down well, covering lip lines, and feels very smooth, soft and weightless on the lips. My lipsticks normally give me good wearing-time, and this lasted on me over 4 hours, and I had to do a bit of a slight touch up after a meal. It did dry out a bit after 4 hours though but it left a pink stain. These lip crayons have a pleasant peppermint kind of fragrance. I see this shade being loved by those ladies who love their brights, and suitable for fair to medium skins.
Pros of Revlon Matte Balm No. 210 Unapologetic :
• A very bright, neon fuchsia colour.
• Very rich pigmentation.
• Smooth and soft to apply.
• Nice peppermint fragrance.
• Easy to carry around in the handbag.
• Lasts at least 4 hours.
• Lines the lips well too.
• Doesn’t accentuate fine lines on the lips.
• Leaves a pink stain and fades evenly.
Cons of Revlon Matte Balm No. 210 Unapologetic:
• Revlon has increased the price of these by Rs. 200 as compared to their Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains.
• May not suit all complexions, though it’s all a matter of personal choice.
IMBB Rating 4.5 on 5.
Will I repurchase Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm No.210 – Unapologetic?
Yes, I love this shade, but am eyeing other shades from this range too.
Thanks for reading and stay beautiful.
