Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm – Audacious Review

Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm – Audacious Review

Hey everyone!

I just returned from my cousin didi’s wedding in Delhi, which was amazing! I would post pics if I had them, but I don’t right now, waiting eagerly for the photographers! So, my brother visited and I got a few products from him and I can’t wait to share it with you all! From the time they launched, I have been eagerly waiting to get my hands on the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms and I finally got them now! I actually thought I had placed an order for Unapologetic, but it turned out I ordered for Audacious. Let’s see if I loved it or not!

Packaging:

This looks almost similar to the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains except for the matte finish which I love love love! I don’t know why but I really like products which have a matte finish packaging, it somehow looks classy! It comes in a twist-up form, with no need for sharpening – what’s not to love?

My Take on Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm – Audacious:

Well, let me say it at the outset – I love the color! From the packaging, it looks like a bright reddish orange, but when I applied, it looked like a bright orange-y pink on me which is pretty wearable. Looking at some swatches, I think it looks orange on some skin tones and pink on some others, but I’m pretty happy that it looks pink on me because I have a lot of oranges, but hardly any orange-y pinks, so this is a nice addition to my collection. If I apply too much, it looks weird, but I usually tone it down with a napkin. It actually looks better after wearing for a few hours.

Now, coming to the texture, I really like the feel of this matte balm. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips and not very drying at the outset, although it does start to dry out lips eventually, but it still doesn’t feel drying. It looks slightly waxy on the lips, especially when worn without a lip balm, but I don’t mind it that much. Actually, its texture reminds me a bit of the NYX Soft Matte lip creams. It looks better when applied on top of lip balm, otherwise it tends to accentuate fine lines.

This color is very pigmented. One swipe gives some color and two swipes are enough for full coverage. I think the brighter shades are more pigmented than the lighter shades. Also, it smells minty and feels slightly minty on the lips which I like!

Their staying power is pretty great, better than the Just Bitten Kissable balm stains, since they were more balmy in texture and got wiped off easily. It stayed for more than 4 hours, after which I had a meal, and even then it looked okay while fading, not like some other lipsticks. This is more a lipstick than a balm, but more hydrating than other matte lipsticks. Overall, I really like these matte balms and would repurchase in other colors.
