Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow- Priceless Metals

Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow- Priceless Metals

On most transformations I’ve seen made by makeup artists on their models’ faces, it is really the eyes that bring out that huge change on the entire look. I find it truly impossible to create that high impact, dramatic look without eye shadows. One quad that can create that drama on eyes is the Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eyeshadow in Priceless Metals.

I picked Priceless Elements which has four gorgeous metallic colors which I want to use on my aunt’s metallic themed 50th birthday party, I’ll be attending in few weeks.

I am glad that the first time I wore metallic eye shadows was a good experience. I tried metallic color on lids when I attended a formal, also a golden birthday party last year. I was wearing a black gown and gold chunky accessories that time and I matched gold and copper eye shadows with it. I love how they can make eyes sparkle whenever light hits you. =)

Actually, I am really hesitant to wear metallic finish and color on eyes that time. I find them too sparkly and extravagant for me. So before the event, to gain much needed confidence on wearing them, I bought few, cheap but really good gold eye shadows to practice with. This time around, I wanted to explore other metallic eye shadow shades, that is more long lasting and I find Revlon ColorStay perfect to use on the special occasion I’ll attend to.

Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow comes in a rectangular, black plastic compact. Most part of the lid cover is transparent showing four eye shadows colors in the pan. It is so simple yet user-friendly. I do not find it expensive looking at all. It is made of light materials, but not really flimsy. Each palette contains 4.8 grams of product in it. Inside the compact, you’ll find two sponge eye shadow applicators of different sizes.

I like the embossed diamond designs on each eye shadow strip. The colors are so lovely and they can create beautiful combination on lids.

1st – Whitish Silver – I use this as highlighter under the arch of my brows and on the inner corner of my eyes.
2nd-Light Gold – I use this all over my lids.
3rd-Bronze/Brown- I sometimes use it all over my lids or on crease area as a contour.
4th- Copper with a hint of burgundy- This is my favorite. I use this on crease area as a contour color.

The whitish silver and light gold color, I only can wear them at night because of their metallic colors which make them appear shimmery compared to darker shades. The brown bronze and burgundy copper shades, I can wear them even during the day for they look neutral to me and they have low shimmer. They have almost satin finish. They are beautiful, natural looking color on lids.

The first two colors, silver and gold are sheer but buildable. I love the pigmentation of the third and fourth colors in the pan. They are all powdery and I experienced minimal fall outs. I find them easy to blend on lids. Their staying power is superb, 7 hours or more. Also, they are waterproof. You can’t remove them with just soap and water. A good makeup remover is needed.

What I like about Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow:

  • The packaging is user friendly.
  • -The colors are gorgeous. They are nude, natural and basic. The colors in the pan work so well together on eyes.
  •  Although they are metallic colors, they have very low shimmer which I really like.
  • -Their finishes are not too metallic, not too light reflecting which makes them easy to wear even by ladies who prefer simple subtle make ups.
  • The colors are gorgeous.
  • I can easily blend these colors on my lids.
  •  It is super long lasting.
  • It is waterproof.
  • It is available in all Revlon Counters and some online shops.

What Idont like about Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow:

  • Low color payoff, especially on two lighter shades in the pan. Primer helps.
  • There are fall outs.
  • They are powdery.
  • Expensive for Php750 here and I read it is Rs 650 in India.

Final thoughts:

I find the two darker colors in the pan so beautiful and I love that this is really long lasting so I think I will repurchase Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour EyeShadow in Priceless Elements once I finished my pan. But I do hope to find a less powdery or creamy version of this.
IMBB Rating:

I will give it 4/5 stars rating.

When it comes to make ups, I find myself always wanting to try new products and explore different looks I can create with them. Ladies, never be afraid to try and experiment with make ups, they are nothing permanent. There are makeup removers, soap and water. =)

Always wear beauty,
Val
