My Experience with Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal To Dry Skin:

I had been looking for a good foundation for some time as I wanted to use it on my travels and hence I wanted something which was long wearing. Revlon Colorstay foundation is known to be one of the best foundations in the drugstores and it is available in two variants. The one for Normal/Oily skin (reviewed here on IMBB) and the other is for Normal/ Dry skin which I will review for you today.

Packaging:

The packaging of this product is the worst aspect of this product. The glass bottle with a screw top cap makes it very risky to carry while traveling. The lack of a pump provided makes it very difficult to disperse the right amount of product. Sometimes, I end up taking out a lot and hence much goes waste. I know so many people have complained about this aspect of this product which apparently Revlon doesn’t seem to heed or refuses to do anything about.

Texture/Consistency:

The foundation has a very good consistency.  It’s not too thick or too runny, though it does seem to be a bit on the thinner side. It spreads evenly and very easily on the skin. I do apply it with my Beauty Blender, but I do feel it will work great with any type of makeup brush that you may use. It does not go streaky or cakey.

Feel On Skin:

This foundation is a medium-full coverage foundation and dries down to a complete matte finish. Even though it is matte, it has never dried out my skin. With a good moisturizing primer, such the It Cosmetics No 50 Primer under this makeup, I don’t have to worry about any visible dry patches or creasing of my foundation.

The shade I have is “Natural Beige,” which matches very well with my NW 23 skin tone. It does have a neutral tone which is not too yellow nor too pink.

I do tend to have very dry patches on my skin in winters.  I use this foundation when my skin tends to lean more towards normal. I do not suffer from any considerable oil secretion from my pores though some foundations do tend to make certain areas on my face look shiny by the end of the day, but not this foundation. It covers almost all imperfections on my face, be it pimples, redness, uneven skin tone and gives my skin a smooth and silky feel.  It feels very lightweight on the face and does not crease or transfer at all.

Staying Power:

I am very impressed in this aspect of the foundation. It is truly a long-wearing foundation.  It stayed and looked flawless on my skin for 8+ hours with little to no touch ups. It did not oxidize or look greasy or shiny during the course of the day. It does remove easily with a makeup remover, but not completely with soap and water.

Fragrance:

This foundation has a very strong yet not unpleasant scent, but it does linger on the skin for a few hours; sensitive noses take notes.

Overall, I am very pleased with the performance of this product and will definitely recommend to dry/normal skinned girls.
