How are you all? Today, I will be reviewing a product from Revlon, which is a necessity in my life! Gel eyeliner! And so I blab.
Bold, smudge-proof color that lasts up to 24 hours. Easily glides to create delicate to dramatic lines. Waterproof.
My Experience with Revlon Colorstay Gel Eyeliner in Brown:
The gel liner comes in a very cute little packaging. The glass bottle is tiny which I hate, but it comes with a very cute brush that snugly fits into the cap of the liner tub, which I adore! I was pleasantly surprised by the good quality of the brush, which is quite unlike those “came free with the product” kind of brushes. I have been using it for 4 months now and haven’t experienced any shedding. The brush can make a nice thin or thick line, just how you would like it. What I hate about the packaging is how tiny the mouth of the bottle is. It becomes difficult to not only dip the brush inside, but also see the amount of product left!
Now as far as the actual gel liner is concerned, it is a beautiful deep brown with minute silver sparkles that give it an iridescent shine. The color in itself isn’t very opaque but extremely buildable. It sets wonderfully in a moderate amount of time, and then it just doesn’t budge, so you aren’t in too much trouble if you are planning to create a smoky eye.
Texture wise, the liner is kind of dry but not as dry as the Maybelline liners. It is creamy, but not as creamy as the MAC FLuidlines, which can become quite a pain for a beginner to work with. So, we have a perfect Goldilocks scenario here. This makes it perfect for beginners as there is good control without too much dryness and the color isn’t so opaque, so one can practice without looking too bold or intimidating!
As for the staying power, it stays on my oily lids for about 10 hours pretty decently, after which it fades off a little unevenly. Sometimes, I use it as a base for my makeup and it lasts around the same without primer and maybe another 2-3 hours with primer, after which it starts collecting in my crease! It goes off only with a make-up remover so make sure you remove it before you hit the bed!
