Revlon Colorstay Moisture Parisian Passion Stain Will Make You Glamorous and Party Ready!

Hi Beauties,

I am really excited to be reviewing this lip stain for you today. These “Colorstay” stains have come into the market for some time, but we, in India did not get them for long; that too not all the colors. The sheer injustice of it really makes me go angry. On top of that, these came to my city a bit late; and by the time I went in to buy this, most of the shades were sold out. The SA had the last piece of this shade;and I just plucked it out of her hands. I have been using this for some time; and I have really liked this stain.

My Experience with Revlon Colorstay Moisture Parisian Passion Stain:

Packaging:  I quite like the packaging of these Revlon lip stains. It comes in a square-shaped tube, made of transparent glass. The shade can be easily observed through the glass. It is topped by a black colored lid, to which the doe-foot applicator is attached. The packaging is simple, but extremely classy!!

Application: The applicator is immersed in the gel-like liquid stain inside. The applicator has a doe-foot, V- shaped, bent tip, which is quite convenient in outlining the lips, as well as filling the lips with color. The applicator absolutely glides on the lips, picks up enough color for one swipe over the lips. The best way of application would be to apply one swipe, pat it with your fingers, and then apply a second swipe for the glossiness. This way, there is no patchiness to the shade, and no unevenness during fading.

Shade:  The shade is a divine, dark berry shade, very apt for glamorous party wear. The shade seems to darken a wee bit on my lips, after 15-20 minutes; but not much.

Formula: Formula-wise, it has a silicony, gel-like formula. It has the stain, the gloss as well as the moisturisation element spot on. However, it needs 2-3 swipes for complete and even coverage of the lips. A single swipe gives a patchy sort of stain. Even the stain which it leaves in the end tends to be uneven, unless you have prepped the lips very well.

Texture: The liquid stain has a medium texture, neither too thick; nor too thin. It totally hugs the lipstick and fills it with color. It feels cool and light; and absolutely non-sticky on the lips. It moisturises the lips very well, but does not hydrate it.  Anyway, it does not dry out the lips after fading, which is a real blessing. Inspite of the staining property, it does not feather or bleed at all.

Longevity:  The initial shine lasts for about an hour, after which it fades to a more uniform and moisturizing color over the lips. Without food, it stays on for 5-6 hours, eventually fading into a lovely stain. However, a heavy meal will definitely wash off the color, leaving only the stain. Once set, it does not transfer too much.
