Revlon Colorstay Overtime in Boundless Brandy Review

Revlon Colorstay Overtime in Boundless Brandy Review

Revlon Colorstay Overtime in Boundless Brandy is another lip color that I bought on my search for that perfect mauve shade. I have a weak spot for long-lasting shades and I am reasonably satisfied with Revlon products. I didn’t think anything could go wrong when I found the perfect combination of a good brand and a long-lasting lip color.

My Take on Revlon Colorstay Overtime in Boundless Brandy:

The liquid lip color comes in a dual plastic packing. On one end, there is the lip color which is filled in the colored bottle while on the other end, there is clear gloss in a transparent bottle. The coloured gloss has a doe-foot applicator while the clear gloss has a small brush. The is a mild smell to the lip color which can easily be ignored. Boundless brandy – the name itself is very appealing. The lip color is a dark mauve shade which tends to be frosted.

The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to apply the gloss on the lips with precision. The pigmentation of the liquid lip color is great. One swipe is enough to cover the entire lip area. It takes a couple of minutes to completely dry. The clear gloss has to be applied only after the lip color has completely dried, else they mix. The clear gloss does not cover the entire area in one swipe. You need to dip the brush at least a couple of times into the clear gloss. The lip color stays for a very long time, but after a couple of hours, it starts flaking and settles into the lines making the lips look very very dry.

It is very difficult to get the color off. Since it is non-transferable, it cannot be wiped off easily; even a lip scrub does not help. It comes off only with an oil-based makeup remover.

Cons of Revlon Colorstay Overtime in Boundless Brandy:

  • Colour on drying looks frosted and darker as compared to when its in the liquid form.

Would I Recommend Revlon Colorstay Overtime in Boundless Brandy? No, the colour looks different on drying and it is a torture for my lips 🙁
