My experience with Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Muse:
Packaging: The packaging is really impressive in my opinion, but because of the functionality and not the looks. The whole lipstick is in the respective shade with transparent cap through which the bullet is visible. Hence it is very convenient to search respective shade. The plastic tube is thick and sturdy. Also the most favorite part of the packaging is that the lipsticks fits perfectly into the black surround that holds them. That means when you take the lid off, you have no way of bumping the rim into the lipstick and damaging the bullet. And when you operate the lipstick back and forth you can hear 3 clicks and the bullet just goes up and down.
Texture: These are made with Shea butter and aloe which is supposed to add moisture. They have a “suede” finish, meaning not matte, but not glossy, kind of a muted satin type finish. They are on the more sheer side, not super saturated or packed with color. They’re softer. No scent or taste that I noted.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is excellent. Just a single swipe will give excellent color coverage on the lips. They feel hydrating enough and don’t necessarily apply patchy or skip during application but you do need a smooth surface to work with. Exfoliate lips well prior to application as these will look very dry and uneven if your lips are flaky or dry.
Shade: I thought Muse would be more of a loud, bright fuchsia pink. It is more a purple tinted, medium pink in day light but looks bright in artificial lighting. After few minutes of application you might feel dryness on your lips to great extend but somehow they don’t bother after a little while and don’t damage your lip texture at all.
Now by no means am I saying that this lipstick is completely long lasting, good 5-6 hours but it also doesn’t come off so easily. These lipsticks however definitely are transfer proof (to a certain degree which is totally acceptable) without being overly drying.
Pros of Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Muse:
• Swipes easily and indeed have a velvety feel
• Available shades are all gorgeous and suitable for any occasion
• Transfer proof to a great extend
Cons of Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Muse:
• The finish is not ideal for those struggling with dry, chapped lips.
Would I repurchase it?
Overall I really enjoy this lipstick and I’ve already been wearing it almost every day since I purchased it. The color is outstanding, the color pay off is great and the price isn’t bad either.
