Revlon Eyeliner Pencil in Toast
Price: 265INR but I got it for free along with my Revlon PhotoReady foundation. :yahoo:
Featured Use: Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman, paired a contoured eye with a strong lip for the Luca Luca Fall 2011 collection which included hot red lips using the Revlon Colorburst lipstick ‘Crimson’ and the eye pencil used for the soft contoured look was the Revlon eyeliner pencil in Toast.
My Take on the Revlon Eyeliner Pencil in Toast
This is a dark brown eye pencil, a shade which has been long missing in my eye pencils collection and is sure a must have shade as brown eye pencil is always a welcome change from the usual black liner/kohl on days when you just want to add a little hint of color on the eyes without going overboard with the funky blues /greens. :haanji:
I went to check for the Loreal gel liner in brown but when the SA swatched this eye pencil in Toast on my hand along with the gel liner then I just could not make out any difference in the two. They both looked absolutely the same. Even the staying power was almost the same as they both remained on my hand for almost 5 hours without any fading. So I thought if I was getting the same thing for free then why to spend 700/- on the gel one and I happily got this eye pencil instead of some manicure kit. Even after washing my hands with the usual hand wash, they just faded a little but did not get washed out completely. I had to use my cleanser for removing the swatches.
I had used this pencil 4-5 times till now as a normal eyeliner pencil, as a kohl on the waterline, even as a eye brow pencil and for creating a soft smudged look and in all these cases, the pencil had done a superb job.
Pigmentation is also great and 1-2 strokes give a nice brown shade on the eyes and also on the waterline. I had already talked off the staying power which is awesome but on the waterline the pencil fades within 2-3 hours, not bad.
Texture is soft and smooth and goes on the eyelids without any tugging. On the waterline, it does not sting at all. It can be easily sharpened using any regular sharper and does not break.
So all in all, this being my first eye pencil from Revlon had been quite good. It is available in 3 other shades: black, green, aqua blue.
