My Experience with Revlon Gladiolus Ultra HD Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a sleek packaging with a transparent cap. The tube is a beautiful reflective silver and has Revlon printed at the base. A color-coded sticker at the bottom of the tube has the shade name and also helps identify the lipstick if you have multiple of them. The packaging is pretty simple; yet it looks classy. Unfortunately, this lipstick does not swivel all the way down inside the tube and there is always the danger of nicking some part of the lipstick while trying to put the cap on.
Shade: Gladiolus is a lovely cherry red shade. The shade looks gorgeous and instantly adds brightness to the face. It is a bright shade but doesn’t look garish and will very well suit warm skin tones.
Texture, Finish, Pigmentation: This lipstick is wax free and is made up of gel instead. Hence, it feels quite balm like on the lips. It glides smoothly on the lips and doesn’t tug at your lips at all. It doesn’t feel drying over time and those with dry lips will also enjoy using this lipstick. The lipstick has a beautiful glossy finish and I love that it does not accentuate any lines on the lips.
The lipstick is slightly on the sheer side. Even though it covers your lips in a single swipe, it doesn’t really go completely opaque and some lip color peeps through. The upside of a sheer pigmentation is that it does not end up looking garish. The lipstick lasts for about 3-4 hours and survives light snacking. It leaves behind a slight stain on the lips.
The lipstick has a mild fruity fragrance, but it does not stay for long. I personally do not mind the fragrance.
To summarize, the Revlon Ultra HD lipstick in Gladiolus is a beautiful red shade with glossy finish and a decent formula.
Pros of Revlon Gladiolus Ultra HD Lipstick:
- Beautiful red shade.
- Glides smoothly on the lips.
- Doesn’t feel drying on the lips.
- Lovely glossy finish.
- Decent staying power – around 3-4 hours.
- Classy packaging.
Cons of Revlon Gladiolus Ultra HD Lipstick:
- Inconvenient packaging – lipstick does not swivel all the way down in the tube.
- Sheer pigmentation.
- Not all might like the fragrance.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Revlon Gladiolus Ultra HD Lipstick?
If you would like to try out a lovely red shade which is slightly on the sheer side, I would definitely recommend this lipstick. I already have a few shades from this range and don’t think will repurchase.

This is a pretty colour but the packaging and staying power of this range just doesn’t let me think of repurchasing any other shade! 🙁
There is one more con in this product… Revlon tests its cosmetics on animals…
