Revlon Matte Eyeshadow Venetian Blue and Aubergine

Revlon Matte Eyeshadows in Venetian Blue and Aubergine

Hello sunshines,

I am a big fan of eyeshadows and I truly believe that a little colour on the eye totally brings out the brightness of one’s eyes.  Initially, I used to just use a liner or khol, but then, I realised that one can use eyeshadow and not look overly made-up.  After experimenting with lots of shimmery eyeshadows, I wanted to try matte ones and what better brand could I choose than Revlon.  So, I went ahead and got Revlon Matte Eyeshadows in Venetian Blue and Aubergine, so let’s get on with it.

Revlon Matte Eyeshadows in Venetian Blue and Aubergine

Product Description by Revlon:

Soft, suede-like textures glides over lids smoothly and evenly, provides high impact color ans a soft matte finish, feels smooth and luxurious on the eyes.  Satin shades provide a smooth, shimmering finish.  Pearl shades provide a sparkling crystallized finish.  Matte shade provides a creamy rich finish.

Shades:

  • Pink Innocence.
  • Rivera Blue.
  • Aubergine.
  • Rich Sable.
  • Vintage Lace.
  • Peach Sorbet.
  • Venetian Blue.

Cost:

Rs. 430 for 2.4 gm approximately (I got some discount, so I don’t really remember the real price).

The packaging it comes is this sturdy, black pack, making it travel friendly and a tiny brush which can be used at desperate times.  Since it’s a complete matte product, it can be used for day wear.  It has no shimmer whatsoever, so people like me using shimmery one might find it a little dull.  Now, the pigmentation being a matte eyeshadow is not all that great, but here’s the trick; use it with a base or water (that’s what I did) and voila, it looks great and stays like forever and does not crease or fallout.

Revlon Eyeshadow

The colour builds up with a couple of swipes.  Though the price is on the higher side, but this product will last for a really long time, so it’s a good deal. The colour glides like a dream and its so easy to apply.

The colour of Venetian Blue is a deep blue shade and Aubergine is more or less a wine/mauve colour , which looks great when used for a smokey look.

Revlon

Swatches:  First two without base or water and two swipes and the second one with two with water and two swipes.

Pros of Revlon Matte Eyeshadows in Venetian Blue and Aubergine:

  • Good colour.
  • When used with base/water, it looks great and lasts long.
  • Good range of shades available.

Cons of Revlon Matte Eyeshadows in Venetian Blue and Aubergine:

  • Price is a bit on the higher side.
  • Has to be used with a base/water for the colour to show up.
  • Aubergine might show up on dusky beauties, but Venetian Blue will.

Conclusion:

It’s a good buy, but dusky beauties, you have to check the colours if it will show up on you or not and then buy it, so I guess for some of the shades, you will have to go old school and go buy them from stores and not online, but light-skinned gals need not worry.  I read Neha’s review on teal and I totally agree with her, and I got teal as well and the colour does not show well on me, but Blue and Aubergine does.

  1. revlon eyeshadows always get positive feedbacks.. I loved these ones too… with base, i liked the color pay off.. Nice review..

  2. Revlon e/s are pretty decent. But these aren’t really something I’m very tempted to buy. :specs: I guess it all comes down to whether you get to test it or not. :silly:
