I hope you are all doing good. I thought I would review another lipstick since I love them so much. This time I am reviewing Revlon’s Moisture Stay Lip Color. This was my first soft pink kind of a shade.
Read on to find what I thought of it:
- High shine, long wear lip color that helps the lips to stay soft and smooth.
- Vitamin enriched formula that nourishes heals dry, cracked lips.
- Menthol lends a cooling effect to soothe lips.
- Moisture stays even after you take the color off.
When I bought it, it was somewhat around Rs. 600, now priced at Rs. 710/-
I bought this color a long time back. I did not have any pinks at that time and I wanted something that looks soft and natural on my lips. When my sister and I went to Westside, we bought this and have used this lip color a lot since then.
First of all, the colour is a gorgeous pink which goes with all the outfits and does not look too loud at all. Its really soft. The menthol claims are definitely true, it really cools your lips. The lasting power is not like all the other long-lasting ones, maybe because this one is more concerned with the moisture.
It stays for an average 4 to 5 hours. It may sound weird, but I don’t know why, but when I apply it, it looks very orangey on the inner part of the lips. I have no idea if its just this lip color or what. But its definitely a peachy-orangish type of a colour.
I really cannot comment on the moisturizing properties since I always use a lip balm underneath all my lipsticks. I just don’t find my lips safe without the use of a lip balm (“weird”).
The colour is definitely glossy and not matte at all. Lately, I have started loving matte kind of lip colors and stopped using all the high shine ones including lip glosses. Maybe that’s why I have not used it too much lately.
Also, the quantity in this one is so less, 1.7 grams is just nothing compared to almost 4 grams that you get in other brands. So in that aspect, I think its not worth investing in this lipstick since you end up paying so much, and get an equal quality in other varieties too.
I would have shown you guys the lip color totally drawn out, but this is all that I am left with now after using it so much. Its barely out now. The colour is really nice, but I don’t think that you guys need to spend Rs. 710 on it considering that there are many other pinks available in the market now. I recently bought another Moisture Stay, which was my favorite kind of a lip color so many years ago, but somehow I don’t think that the one I bought inspite of being of the same name, offers same quality. So maybe their quality and pigmentation has also changed over time. Anyhow, let’s sum up this review. See you guys later 😛
