Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow- Nude Elements Review

When my love for make ups began, I first worked and explored on every parts of my face except on my eyes. When I realized that the windows to my soul deserve emphasis, I started using mascaras and eyeliners. They are really good at bringing life to the eyes. However, for that lovely warmth and drama on the eyes, only eye shadows can give that. Today, I’ll be reviewing Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eye Shadow in Nude Elements.

Revlon Nude Elements Eyeshadow Palette

Eye shadows can do the trick and enhance our eyes’ appearance. It can even address different challenges we have with our eyes. Like in my case, I do have hooded lids. How to know if you have hooded lids? Look straight at the mirror, if you see no lids, then hooded lids you have. With this kind of lids, I usually go for minimal eye color just to warm or brighten my eyes. To achieve warmth, I picked Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow in Nude Elements.

Revlon Nude Elements Eyeshadow Palette review

Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow comes in a rectangular, black plastic compact. I like that the most part of the lid cover is transparent. It shows the four eye shadow colors inside. I love the convenience this kind of packaging brings, most especially if you have 2 or more of same palettes in your stash. Each palette contains 4.8 grams of product in it. Inside the compact, you’ll find two sponge eye shadow applicators of different sizes.

Now let’s go to the eye shadows. I love the embossed diamond designs on each strip. They are so beautiful that I don’t want to use them. Joke! Hihi. The colors in the pan complement each other very well.

  • 1st – Ivory – I use this as highlighter, under the arch of my brows and on the inner corners of my eyes. I also use it over my nose bridge and on my cupid’s bow.
  • 2nd-Champagne – I use this all over my lids.
  • 3rd-Taupe- I sometimes use it all over my lids or as a contour for daytime look, over champagne color.
  • 4th- Charcoal/Dark Gray- I use this for nighttime look, on crease area as a contour color.

They are all neutral, basic colors perfect for everyday use. They all have low shimmers on them, so I find them workable in creating daytime makeup using the 3 lightest colors and adding the darkest shade to create night make up.
I can say that the color pay off is low but I find it okay since I intend to wear minimal and light makeup during the day. It is buildable but I find it a bit powdery to achieve a seamless, smooth look on lids when layered too much. So remember to blend well. Since it is powdery, I experienced fall outs too. I find ease in blending them on lids. They last very long, 7 hours or more. Also, they are waterproof. You can’t remove them with just soap and water. A good makeup remover is needed.
Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow – What I like about it:

  • The packaging is user friendly.
  •  The colors are gorgeous. They are nude, natural and basic. The colors in the pan work so well together on eyes.
  • Low shimmers brighten the eyes.
  • Can be used to create day and night eye makeup.
  • The color is very wearable.
  •  I can easily blend these colors on my lids.
  •  It is super long lasting.
  • It is waterproof.
  • It is available in all Revlon Counters.

Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow -What I don’t like about it:

  • Low color payoff. Primer helps.
  • There are fall outs.
  • They are powdery.
  • I find it a bit expensive for P750. I read it is Rs 650 in India.

Final thoughts:

I find Revlon ColorStay 12 Hours Eye Shadow a very nice neutral palette for the gorgeous colors it has. It is a good palette to have since it can be used for day to night make up.

I see myself repurchasing another Nude Elements palette after I finished the one I have now since I am in love with the color selection it has. Right now, I want to explore others shades they have.

I’ll give it 4/5 stars rating.

To ladies who always want to see the beauty in everything in this world, it’s time to show the world the beauty in your eyes. =)

Always wear beauty,
Val

  1. even I stick to nudes when it comes to the eyes , I believe for make up lo look natural, pigments tht occur naturally onthe face should be emphasised. But you know , for indian weddings especially , one cannot do without the sweeping lush lashes and the elongated eyes , and it`s precisely then when shimmery colours co ordinated with the trousseau looks great… I haven`t experimented much with eyeshadows either..maybe it`s time to explore that. 😀

    1. Thats lovely Arja.. i agree shades that occur naturaly are amazzinggggg … 🙂 . the palette has beautiful shades.. had i got a chance… would have bought it for myself for sure.. 🙂 loved all four.. long lasting tooo 🙂 … nice one 🙂

    1. HI Rinni, UD comes to my mind when I saw this palette. =) I do not have UD pallete but they say it has high shimmers, while this Revlon have low shimmers in it. But the colors, basing on the photos, they remind me of UD. =) Thanks Rinni.
