Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel Review

Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel

Hi beautiful ladies

Today I am here with another set of 5 nail paints, this time its Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel. Revlon has come up with these scented nail paints. So let’s see how these nail paints stand apart from the rest.

Shade:

• Autumn Spice– glittery brownish copper with a warm cinnamon and caramel aroma
• Wintermint – light seafoam green base with blue glitter chunks and gold shimmer
• Powerpuff – baby pink
• China flower – pure warm red with a lovely floral smell
• Ginger melon – watermelon pink and smells like melon with a touch of ginger

Price: Rs 350/- for 11.7ml

Revlon Claims: Vibrant shiny shades go on smoothly for flawless color and then dry to light, irresistible fragrance.
“Fragrance revealed when dry”, “Vibrant, shiny shades” and “Light fragrances last all day”

My experience with Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel:

This range of nail enamels are divided into three categories, fragrances wise which are Fruits & Floral, Fresh and Sweets & Spices. These polishes are scented (of course) but the scent does not come out until your polish has dried (or is almost dry). So you can’t open the bottles and take a whiff right in the store, and I know that some of you said you wished that Revlon would have included scratch-n-sniff stickers or something like that on the display.

The collection is further listed down into three categories fragrance wise, I would segregate my collection as follows:

Sweets & Spices: Autumn Spice
Fresh: Wintermint, Powder Puff, China Flower
Fruit & Floral: Ginger Melon

Packaging: It’s a square glass bottle with a ball black colored cap. The mouth of the bottle is wide enough but I am not happy with the applicator. The brush is very thin which makes the application a bit tiring. Even handling wise I find this ball like cap does not sitting perfectly in my hand. But overall the bottle looks pretty cute and manageable. The shade is also printed right in the front with details mentioned on the back side. All kept together it reminds me of chess pawns all standing together.

Now about the shades:

Autumn Spice: Is like fall in a bottle. The base is chocolaty brown and there’s a gorgeous micro-fleck shimmer as well. The shimmer is golden, bronze and also a pinkish-red flash that you get at certain angles. Shimmers can be notices in proper light. Autumn Spice smells exactly like pumpkin pie filling. I get pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar here, but it’s not sugary sweet. It’s quite lovely, but it does make me feel hungry 😉

China Flower: Is a bright, classic red shade. This color caught my eye because even though it is a classic red, there is an extra pop, adding a subtle difference that just made it stand out for me. Fragrance wise it has floral scent, not over powering at all. It smells more like Ittar, the strongest fragrance of the five.

Wintermint: A mint green metallic base with gold micro glitters and small aqua glitters throughout, this complex color is so fun! The smell to me is spearmint gum in a nutshell. There are many similar shades available in the market of different brand.

Powder Puff: It’s a baby pink color with bit of shimmery particles in it. Powder Puff does not smell like baby powder as you’d expect. At least not to me! I get a powdery note in there, but it’s more floral, feminine and clean smelling.

Ginger melon: A bright pink coral color. Scent wise it’s light and sweet, less ginger and more melon (watermelon). It reminds me of watermelon gum but not as strong. In fact, if you’re not into scented nail polishes but love this hot coral color, give Ginger Melon a definite try anyway. The perfume oil in this one isn’t overwhelming at all.

Though I find the lid is not so easy to grasp and work with, still I love that the bottles are square, hence they can be stacked together nicely in whatever storage system you use for your polishes. I’m also quite impressed with the formulas (thin, but perfectly opaque in two coats and easy to work with), and I really love that all five polishes dry to very shiny finish (and dry pretty quickly, as well).

Finally the staying power, without the top coat it stayed for around 3 days on my nails. Definitely with top coat it would last longer. Once your nails dry (I chose not to use a base or top coat with these) the scents linger on your hands in the most pleasant way. Drying time was not too bad even with the added perfume oils in these and I found that the scents lasted about 2-3 days on my nails.

Pros of Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel:

• Nail paint with fragrance, choose from what fragrance you like
• Cute packaging
• Pretty shades available
• Square bottles, hence can be stored easily

Cons of Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel:

• Applicator is a bit uncomfortable
• Though it’s scented nail paint it still has the typical nail paint smell (it’s just before application)

Rating: 4/5 (minus one for the applicator)

Would I repurchase Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel?

I loved everything about these polishes before I tried them, and I love everything about them now that I own them. The packaging, the perfume-themed scents and the colors are all quite beautiful. All three of Revlon’s claims (on the display) are absolutely true: “Fragrance revealed when dry”, “Vibrant, shiny shades” and “Light fragrances last all day”. Even if you’re not a scented polish fan, I think you might be pleasantly surprised by these. I say give them a try!
