Revlon PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation Review

By Isheeta Chatterjee

A biggie “Hello” to all,

I’m super excited to finally start writing here! Yay-iee!! So, after 3 years of silently stalking all the posts, I decided to contribute (finally!). I chanced upon this little beauty while on the lookout for “mera-wala” compact powder at a Lifestyle store, along with a nagging “someone special” when a SA swooped down on me and dragged me to the Revlon counter. And by the virtue of her convincing prowess and my boyfriend’s “buy it! buy it!” rant this baby found a new home 🙂

My Experience with Revlon PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation:

So! I review this product after it hits the pan and I apologize, but I bought this way back in November!! Shame on me for not sharing it with you all then.  So, what’s a Two Way Powder? A compact makeup solution doubling up as foundation (when used wet), compact/pressed powder and for light concealing. That’s how the SA got me, too. And yes, it fares on all the claims as well. No claims mentioned as such, I would drink up all that the SA promised. And boy, did the promise fare.  I bought this in the shade “Medium Beige” after many hassles and went home to try it on the very next day.

The texture is oh-so-soft, not powdery, nil fall-out, no flying of powder particles, proper coverage, no cakey feel/look, easy blendability, compact storage, a good sponge applicator, breathable/airy sponge compartment. What else could I ask for, ladies? The staying power is decent (me being oily-skinned with pores). Though dry-skinned beauties could keep a check on the amount. Slightly conceals pores (I have many) and conceals under eye area well for me. For heavy concealing, I am sorry.  I use this with my Bourjois Kabuki Brush and I am good to go.

Pros of Revlon PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation:

  • Easy blendability.
  • Decent staying power.
  • Does not give a cakey feel/look on layering.
  • Lightly conceals pores and under eye area.
  • Doubles up as foundation too (use sponge wet).
  • Good quality sponge applicator.
  • A huge mirror apt for touch-ups.
  • No fragrance.
  • Titanium dioxide in makeup’s good (especially for sensitive skin or rosacea affected like mine and is a sunscreen agent). Thus, it has SPF 19.

Cons of Revlon PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation:

  • A bit expensive (but considering how long it will last, not much of a con either).
  • Complete ingredient list missing.

Would I Repurchase Revlon PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation?

Yes! Oily-skinned problematic skin – go get it! Dry skinned lass out there? Go easy on the application.

And yes, an oily-skin-friendly powder finally.. But choose your shade match well. Those persistent SAs make you buy the wrong ones all the time.. I’d to convince my friendly one for a whole 10mins that the shdae which she brought out for me was lighter and I need a shade darker..
