Revlon Platinum Glimmer Luxurious Color Satin Eyeshadow Review

Today I’m reviewing an eyeshadow from the brand Revlon. It is from the Luxurious Color Satin eye shadows range and the shade name is Platinum Glimmer which is an intensely pigmented glittery grey eye shadow. It is my go- to eye shadow when I have to do a smokey eye look. Read on to know more about it.

Product price: CAD 8.99 (approx. INR 450). I bought it for INR 400 at a store in Delhi that sells imported cosmetics.

My experience with Revlon Platinum Glimmer Luxurious Color Satin Eyeshadow:

Packaging: it comes in a small box like container. Very tiny and compact! It does not weigh much and can easily fit into the makeup kit when travelling because it does not take up much space. I like the decent and fuss- free packaging.

Shade: The shade Platinum Glimmer is a glittery grey eye shadow. It is very pigmented. It contains minute shimmer particles. But because it is a satin finish eye shadow, it ends up looking very luminous on the eyes and the eyes get a shiny, glittery look. One can easily go overboard with this shade. I normally use a light hand while applying this eye shadow. It can be teamed up with a glittery pinky silver eye shadow or even a glittery blue to give a nice ombre effect. I absolutely love this shade.

Texture and pigmentation: Revlon Luxurious color satin finish eye shadow is very aptly named. It has a nice satin finish. And because of the satin finish only, it is so smooth in texture. Application is easy though there is some fallout. It feels very smooth when applied on to the eye lids and it blends like a dream. It is an immensely pigmented eye shadow, probably the most pigmented one I’ve used too. Just one swatch is what I need most of the time to do a subtly smokey eye (subtle smokey eye, oxymoron there LOL). This eye shadow definitely needs a lot of blending otherwise it can end up looking ghostly. It stays on me for a really long time (definitely 6+ hours) because it is such a bright color and it has an excellent color payoff too.

Pros of Revlon Platinum Glimmer Luxurious Color Satin Eyeshadow:

• Versatile shade of grey. Can be worn for a number of different eye looks.
• Compact packaging.
• Decent quantity
• Value for money as it is a very versatile eye shadow and comes in a decent quantity.
• Color payoff is excellent
• Even though it is a very pigmented shade of eye shadow, it is very easy to blend and to tone it down.
• It has a smooth satin finish and the finish gives the illusion of a shimmery eye shadow.
• Stays on me for 6+ hours when worn on a primer.

Cons of Revlon Platinum Glimmer Luxurious Color Satin Eyeshadow:

• Not sure if this particular shade of eye shadow is easily available in India. Though it is available online.
• There is some fallout while applying this eye shadow.
• One can easily go overboard with this shade of eye shadow.
• Since it is a very pigmented color, toning it down or even blending takes a couple of minutes.

Will I repurchase/ do I recommend Revlon Platinum Glimmer Luxurious Color Satin Eyeshadow?

I won’t repurchase because I like to buy different products each time. I recommend this to people who like such dark shades.
