My experience with Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick – Rose:
Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a silver tube with a clear plastic cap. The cap fits tightly which makes it travel friendly. The shade name and number are printed on a sticker at the bottom of the tube, the color of the sticker being the same (more or less) as the lipstick color. This makes it easy to spot the color among your other lipsticks when stored with the label on top.
This packaging does have a big drawback. The lipstick bullet does not swivel down completely into the silver tube. This means that a good portion of the lipstick is still exposed when you are taking off or putting the cap back on. Unless you are very, very careful, you cannot avoid nicking the lipstick with the cap. Another point to note is that the quantity you get is only 3g, as compared to the standard 4g.
Color:
“Rose” is a beautiful soft pink shade. It applies much lighter than it appears in the bullet. If your lips are not very pigmented, then this would look very pretty on you and work well as an everyday shade.
Pigmentation:
The pigmentation of all lipsticks in this HD range is quite good. This one is no exception. I can get an opaque color with a couple of swipes on my arm. But since this particular shade is quite light, on my pigmented lips, it looks much lighter.
Scent:
The lipstick has a mild sweet scent which disappears soon after application.
Texture and Finish:
This lipstick has a slightly glossy finish. Revlon describes this formula as a wax-free gel. It feels very slick and creamy when you apply it on your lips. It glides easily without any patchiness. It does not dry out the lips and feels quite comfortable and lightweight on the lips. I find the formula comparable to the Maybelline Color Whisper lipsticks. It does not accentuate dry spots on the lips.
Longevity:
Lasting power is quite low for this lipstick. I get about 2 hours before it starts fading. But the lipstick fades evenly without looking patchy. Due to the creaminess, it does transfer quite a bit and will not be able to survive a meal. It does not leave any tint on the lips.
Pros of Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick – Rose:
Beautiful soft pink shade
Creamy and moisturizing
Good pigmentation
Travel friendly and color coded packaging
Does not dry out the lips
Does not accentuate dry spots on the lips
Cons of Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick – Rose:
Lasting power is low.
Packaging – The lipstick bullet does not swivel down completely.
Quantity you get is lesser than a normal lipstick
IMBB Rating:
3.5/5
Recommendation:
This is a very pretty soft pink shade. Though the staying power is low, it feels quite comfortable on the lips. But try it out only if you have non-pigmented lips.
