Today, I am going to review the first ever lip gloss that I bought. I just dug this out of my collection and thought I would review it for you all. Back then, I don’t know why I thought lip glosses were way cooler than lipsticks (I know, I know, please don’t beat me :p). But after 4-5 lip glosses and one lipstick later, that opinion changed forever! Now nobody can come in between me and my lipsticks. Anyway, stepping into the world of makeup, I was shy of bold colours and bought this transparent gloss flecked with beautiful gold particles.

My Experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Toast to Shine:
Shade: Toast to Shine is a sheer lip gloss with lots of gold shimmer particles. It is quite wearable on its own if you want to add shine to your bare lips. It can also be worn on top of another lipstick to add shine and life to it. Being a sheer gloss, it keeps intact the shade of the lipstick worn underneath it while adding shine. The lip gloss is packaged in a transparent square plastic tube with a black plastic cap. The transparent tube provides easy recognition of the shade and also indicates the quantity of product left. The doe-foot applicator attached to the cap helps in easy application on the lips, but it picks up a little product in one go and has to be dipped into the tube 2-3 times for full coverage of the lips.
Texture: The texture of the gloss is quite thick compared to other glosses I have used over time. This may be due to the golden shimmer particles. The golden particles, though do not feel gritty on the lips at all. The gloss does feel heavy and sticky on the lips. It is not at all hydrating. Rather, it dries my lips (my lips are already dry most of the times). So, a lip balm underneath is advisable.
Pigmentation: As it is a sheer lip gloss meant to add shine, the pigmentation issue does not arise. A single swipe makes the lips shiny. A single swipe on a lipstick would be sufficient to add shine to it too.
Staying Power: The gloss has an average staying power. The shine lasts for around 2-3 hours.
Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Toast to Shine:
- Doe-foot applicator.
- Good sheer gloss.
- Golden flecks add the perfect shine to lips.
- The shimmer in the gloss doesn’t make it gritty.
- Does not bleed or smudge.
Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Toast to Shine:
- Feels heavy and sticky on the lips after a while.
- Not very long lasting.
- Thicker than other lip glosses.
- Ingredient list not mentioned.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Toast to Shine?
No, I will not repurchase this or any other lip gloss as my lip gloss fetish is over. I would also not recommend this for my dry lips companions as it feels heavy and sticky on the lips. But ladies who do not have dry lips can give it a try if they need a sheer gloss.
