Hello IMBB Beauties,
A friend of mine once said that words like “discount” “% off” are like bombs! I agree 🙂 Yesterday, I was with that intelligent friend of mine when we spotted Rs. 150/- off on select lipsticks at the Revlon counter. The magnet was too strong for me and I was easily drawn to the counter. I was looking for the shades Fleshtone, First Love, Coffee Break, but I could not believe how awful the testers looked. Firstly, they did not have the shades, secondly they had Coffee Break and the SA was trying to convince that this is the n*de that Revlon has to offer!
Grape Juice comes in a bullet shape typical Revlon black body and gold band packaging. The top is transparent which will hint the shade that is inside. At the bottom, a golden sticker mentions the shade name and number.
Revlon Grape Juice is a super creamy lipstick, but unfortunately the sticker says “frost.” I did not notice this at the store, else I would have been miles away, but this felt super smooth and absolutely no frost on application. I guess there is a mistake in the label. As far as I remember, the tester said “crème.” The lipstick is glossy on application, but loses its shine in about an hour.
Lovely pigmentation, one swipe and you are good to go. You can build on the color if you wish to intensify, but “Grape Juice” looks very pretty with one swipe. Well, that’s totally my opinion and results might vary as per choice and pigmentation of the lips.
Stays for 1-2 hours after which it starts to fade evenly. There is a pink stain left behind which is good for people who do not wish to go bare lips post lunch or coffee. For me, I like to touch up because I love the glossy wet look that “Grape Juice” provides. I am not a lip-liner person, but I believe using a lip liner will increase the staying power of the lipstick.
My Experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Grape Juice:
Revlon Grape Juice is a mauvy pink color which will suit almost all skin tones. I am not a pink lover but there was some magic in this particular shade that brought an instant glow to my face. Off late, I am so much into brown, n*des, neutrals that I somehow miss looking at the pretty pinks and mauves. But this color is one of its kind, it felt super smooth to apply and made my skin glow. With the “bomb” of discount going on, I could not give it a miss.
Rs. 400 for 4.2 gm.
Swatch on bare skin:
