A few weeks ago, Revlon had launched their new “Ultra HD” matte liquid lipsticks and I had picked up the shades HD Love, HD Obsession and HD Addiction. Later, I went ahead and picked up 3 more shades – HD Temptation, HD Seduction and HD Devotion. Today, I am reviewing the shade “HD Temptation.” Read on to find out more.

My Experience with Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – HD Temptation:
Packaging: The packaging of this lipstick is very attractive; it comes in a sleek flat oval tube in a frosted matte finish with a brushed-silver cap. The packaging looks really classy.
It comes with a paddle-shaped applicator which is quite standard. It is easy to use and makes the application precise and quick.
Shade/Pigmentation: HD Temptation is a bright candy pink shade. This is a fun, flirty shade and totally reminds me of summer. This shade will suit fair skin tones better as it is slightly cool toned.
The lipstick is highly pigmented and one swipe gives you opaque coverage. There is no clumping if you layer on the lipstick. However, you need to be careful with the application as the lipstick has a tendency to transfer onto the teeth.
Texture/Finish: This is a liquid lipstick and has a creamy texture. It is not very runny and spreads easily on the lips. However, it is not matte as the name suggests and does not dry down completely. It remains slightly wet and settles down to a plush velvety finish.
The lipstick feels pretty comfortable and lightweight on the lips and does not feel drying, but as the day passes, I experience a slight tackiness/stickiness when I purse my lips together. The lipstick doesn’t settle into lip lines, but this is a liquid lipstick and I would recommend exfoliating lips before application or else it does highlight dry patches.
The lipstick has a pretty strong fruity candy scent. Those of you who are sensitive to fragrances in their cosmetics will surely not like it. The good part is that the scent doesn’t stay on for long once applied.
Staying Power: Since this lipstick is not truly matte and it stays wet for most of the time, it transfers quite a bit. It lasts on me for around 4-5 hours depending on what I am snacking/drinking. It leaves behind a stain on the lips which needs a makeup remover to get it off.
To summarize, if super-matte liquid lipsticks is your thing, you will not like this new launch from Revlon, but on the other hand, if you were avoiding those liquid lipsticks which get drying, you might actually like these.

- Creamy texture which glides smoothly on the lips.
- Strong pigmentation.
- Attractive packaging.
- Does not feel drying on the lips.
Cons of Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – HD Temptation:
- Does not have a matte finish as advertised.
- Transfers a lot.
- Average staying power.
- Strong fruity candy scent.
- Slight tackiness is experienced as day passes.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – HD Temptation?
If you like liquid lipsticks with a slight sheen, you may try it out. But, it is not a matte lipstick.
I will not repurchase the exact same shade.
