REVLON VELVET TOUCH LIPSTICK PASSIONATE PLUM REVIEW
Today, I am going to review one of my mom’s lipsticks. She loves Revlon Superlustrous range and Velvet Touch range because of the pigmentation and texture. I saw this lipstick in her vanity and noticed that it hasn’t been used much. I was quite shocked because I always thought she loves Revlon lipsticks. I thought I will try it myself and then convince her to use it.
My experience with this lipstick:
Revlon Velvet Touch lipsticks come in a red case with a golden band in the centre mentioning the name of the brand. I think the packaging is prettier and more girly than the packaging of Superlustrous range. The packaging is sturdy and the cap easily locks and fits into the case, so there are minimal chances of it being opened in the bag. The shade name and number is mentioned at the bottom. There’s a small transparent window at the top to identify the color.
Passionate Plum is a dusky mauve color with hint of brown in it. This color is semi-matte. It doesn’t have any shimmer or frost but I am saying it semi-matte because it doesn’t look totally dry on the lips (I know, I confused you people here :-P). It will suit all skin tones well and will be carried very easily and comfortably by dusky tones. It can be worn as a casual lipcolor to the office or workplace and can be worn in the parties too. The color isn’t anything unique but still a lovely color for all skin tones, especially the dusky tones.
This lipstick is extremely pigmented; a single swipe is more than sufficient. It glides on very smoothly and softly on lips. It stays on my lips for about 4 hours and doesn’t settle into fine lines. It doesn’t smudge or bleed, even without a lipliner. It doesn’t dry out my lips. True to its name, it definitely has velvet touch to it. I love how smoothly and softly it glides on my lips. I was so impressed with this lipstick the first time I tried it that I had a thought of hijacking it from my mom, but then somehow my conscious trapped me. 😛 I put it back in my mom’s vanity and instead of convincing her, I just put it in the pocket where she keeps her favorite lipsticks. The next day when she came back from work in the evening, she told me that she saw this lipstick in her vanity and applied it and loved it. 😀 I guess it was just kind of forgotten lipstick in her collection but now she loves it.
