Hello my girlfriends,

What’s cooking? It’s just a month ago my brother got married and it was so much fun. It was the times I had been waiting eagerly. Since then I have started putting on weight 🙁 .  As we all know how many dinners and parties we are suppose to attend after a marriage. So, yesterday I went to a dinner get together. My sister-in-law was wearing a really pretty red lipstick and she was looking so adorable. With that I decided to review that lipstick. When I asked her about that lipstick she answered that she found it in the vanity gifted by me to her, and I was like what? I bought the lipstick and I don’t even remember :p . So, it’s Revlon’s Velvet Touch lipstick – Spicy Red.

Revlon’s Velvet Touch lipstick – Spicy Red is a part of their bridal collection. The product comes in classic red cover with gold ring engraved with Brand name on it. The top of the lid is transparent, so as to peep through. It’s a gorgeous shade of red, simply perfect for the brides (that’s what Revlon says; but anyone can wear this).

My Experience with Revlon Velvet Touch Spicy Red Lipstick:

Ok, I would like to talk about me a little before I share my experience with the product. I call myself as an artist :p because my favorite pastime is to paint. I love drawing, painting, and graphic designing. Thus, I very well know how to play with colors. 😀

So, I would like to share a little about colors for those who do not know. There are two words which we commonly read here i.e. Tint & Shade.

Tint: Think of a color, for example, Red. Now if you add white to red, it becomes pink. So, pink will be the tint of red. Adding white to any color to make it lighter will give you tint of the color.

Shade: Now if you add black to Red, it will give you maroon. Maroon will be the shade of red. Adding black to colors, for darker color, gives you shade of that color.

Shade: Talking about the shade of the lipstick, it’s a beautiful shade (because it’s darker than actual red) of red. To elaborate, it is a mixture of red and orange. It gives a very rich orangish rusty spicy red color. It is highly pigmented and gives very good color in single swipe. I am fan of orange based red lipsticks and thus, I picked this product. However, this isn’t a traditional red, still it’s a must have shade for brides as it suits all skin tones. Especially Indian skin tone i.e. brown/olive skin tone. The reason I said that it is for brides is because it’s a part of Revlon Bridal range lol :p .

Texture: Coming to it’s texture, it completely justifies the name given to it. It is super creamy and velvety smooth. It glides on so easily on lips and gives a satin finish, which I didn’t like because I am fan of matte finish. It has a non-drying formula, which doesn’t make lips feel stretchy or dry. It doesn’t crease, bleed and doesn’t settle into fine lines.

Staying Power: To the question of its staying power. It has a very good stay, which lasts up to 3-4 hours without fading or bleeding. I think this is more than enough, as no girl can stay without touch up for 2 hours :p .

Pros of Revlon Velvet Touch Spicy Red Lipstick:

• Price is a bit higher for a drug store brand.
• Nothing more.

Would I repurchase Revlon Velvet Touch Spicy Red Lipstick?
