I am always hunting for new lip colors and that’s how I came across this mauve lipstick from one of “I Heart Revolution’s” recent launches. This range has 5 lipsticks and this shade is described as a ‘satin matte’ mauve lip colour. I Heart Revolution is the branch of Revolution Beauty which makes cute and collectible makeup. I always wanted to have a purple-toned lipstick in my collection. Read onto if this lipstick fulfilled my expectations.

My Experience with Revolution Beauty I Heart Revolution Mystical Mermaid’s Lipstick Mythical Tale:
Packaging: This lipstick comes packaged in a cute turquoise plastic body. The lid has a drawing of mermaid scales which is a nice addition and appropriate for the lipstick theme. The name of the brand is inscribed in purple-pink letters at the bottom of the cylinder. The lipstick has a simple twisting mechanism for application. There’s no ingredient information on the packaging and the name of the shade is listed on a barcode sticker on the lid. Overall, the packaging is cute, simple and travel-friendly. I have no complaints with it.
Finish/Pigmentation/Lasting Power: The unique bullet of the lipstick deserves a special mention. Mermaid scales are imprinted on the bullet which makes this lipstick really attractive. There’s no fragrance in this product, so that’s a bonus. The lipstick has a creamy formulation and glides smoothly on the lips without tugging. The colour pigmentation is excellent and only one swipe is needed to cover up any dark areas of the lips. The finish is indeed satin matte or a soft matte. I absolutely love the colour, it is a mauve shade which surprisingly suits my medium tanned skin. This colour might remind you of one of Aishwarya Rai’s Cannes looks wherein she wore a purple lip colour, which garnered mixed opinions from people, but I think this lipstick will suit from fair to dusky skin tones. It’s a bit of an adventurous colour but I love to wear it with a simple ensemble of white top and black jeans.
This lipstick transfers everywhere, which is expected from a creamy formulation. Without any concealer underneath, its longevity is around 3-4 hours. It cannot survive heavy meals, but with Rati’s lipstick hack (as described on the Rati Beauty app), its longevity increases to 6-7 hours.
Overall, the pigmentation and color of this lipstick has impressed me a lot but it could have done better in the transferring and longevity department. Regardless, it’s a mauve shade which will look good on everyone.

Yes, I would recommend it if you love to have different lip colours in your stash. I am not sure about repurchasing as I am still looking out for purple lipsticks with more longevity.
