5 Rice Powder Recipes To Brighten Dull Complexion

Our skin tone is negatively affected by pollution, sun rays and stress. Also, our skin is continuously facing the onslaught of these environmental factors and losing its shine over years. We resort to a number of chemical peels and exfoliators to bring back our skin’s original texture and colour. I don’t support the skin lightening fad, but if you have tanned considerably and your skin tone looks visibly darkened, some natural tips can do the tricks. One such ingredient is rice powder or rice flour, which contains para-aminobenzoic acid, allantoin and tyrosinase. Together these restore your skin’s texture, treats discoloration and makes your skin look radiant and fair. Here are 5 recipes using rice powder that would help in brightening skin tone.

Rice Powder Recipes to Brighten Dull Complexion

1. Rice Flour Exfoliator with Oats and Honey for Dry Skin:

Combine 1 teaspoon of rice flour with a half teaspoon of oats and 1 teaspoon honey. Mix well and apply it onto your skin. Let it rest for around 15 to 20 minutes and scrub off gently using water. By using this scrub for about 2–3 times in a week, will treat your tan and make your skin glowing from within. Also, oats and honey ensure that the scrub doesn’t feel very harsh on the driest of skin.

2. Rice Flour with Green Tea and Lemon Juice for Acne-prone skin:

Steep 1 green tea bag in a cup of hot water. Now, mix 2 tablespoons of rice flour, and 1–2 teaspoons of lemon juice in it. Apply over the skin and then wash off after 10 minutes. Follow this process 3 times a week. These three ingredients work like magic in diminishing dark acne spots and blackheads. This mask is best suited for women with oily and acne-prone skin.

3. Rice Flour with Cucumber Juice and Aloe Vera Gel:

Mix 2 tablespoons each of rice flour, cucumber juice and aloe vera gel. Stir well and apply this face pack over the skin and allow it to dry. Wash it well with lukewarm water by gently massaging in a circular motion. Repeat once or twice every week to reap its benefits. This is suitable for all skin types and also helps in removing dead skin cells.

4. Rice Powder with Potato and Yoghurt to Lighten Skin:

Mix a tablespoon each of rice powder, potato pulp and yoghurt. Apply this mixture onto the skin and let it rest for 20 minutes. Rinse it off with water and pat the skin dry. If your skin has blemishes or has a stubborn tan, this is ideal for you. Rice powder removes excess oil whereas the mild bleaching properties of potato whiten the skin and yoghurt nourish your skin.

5. Rice Powder Pack for Mature and Sensitive Skin:

For this, you have to mix one teaspoon of rice powder, half a teaspoon of turmeric powder, half teaspoon of olive oil and one teaspoon of yoghurt. Apply this paste over the skin and let it rest for around 15–20 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water and pat dry. This pack works wonders for women with mature and sensitive skin. Rice powder exfoliates, yoghurt hydrates, olive oil moisturises and turmeric lightens the skin.
