Each time I review a sponsored product from IMBB, I thank my stars. It has been a wonderful journey so far and I am totally spoilt by my bosses. Coming to product review, it is a lipstick from the lasting finish range by Rimmel in the shade “Coffee Shimmer.” I had liked the shade in the store, but somehow did not pick it up then. This time, I gave in and this gets added to the ever growing stash of my neutral lipsticks.

Price:

Rs. 250/- for 4 gm.

Packaging:

Rimmel lasting finish lipsticks come in typical packaging with shade name and number at the back on a color coded sticker. The body is boring plastic but you cannot expect much at this price point. The bullet is secure at the base and does not melt off in the hot and humid climate. Overall, a fuss-free functional packaging which will not get lost in your stash owing to the shade name and number on the colored sticker.

Texture:

The lipstick glides on smoothly and there is a creamy finish to the shade. Though the name says shimmer and there is ample amount of shimmer in the shade yet they are not chunky or gritty in any way. You will never feel them on your lips. On the other hand it feels lightweight on the lips.

Pigmentation:

70% color is deposited on the first swipe. So, you can wear it sheer or you can build the intensity as per your liking. For people who wear neutrals to office, this is a great shade as there is an added sophistication due to the shimmer.

Color:

The base shade is neutral which sticks to the formal atmosphere of office yet with the twist of shimmers. I feel this is paired best with a matte oil-free base makeup to pep up the face. The exact color description is brick-based brown with ample shimmer.

Staying Power:

Though the name says lasting finish, the staying power is not too impressive. Being creamy in nature, the shade transfers to cups/mugs. Without any base, the color stays for 2-3 hours and the shimmer a bit longer. The good thing is that the shimmers do not transfer if not messed with. I always wear a n*de liner as a base and it increases the wear time up to 5 hours.  The only thing that might bother you is the smell. I have super sensitive nose and hence I have a bit of problem on initial application, but thankfully, the smell fades soon. One more thing that might be considered a con is that the shimmer will travel all over the face while removing the makeup. Hence the best thing to do is remove the lipstick at last, once you are done with removing the base and eye makeup, then move ahead with the lipstick.
