If you read me, you know I go bonkers buying the same kinda makeup, now I used Maybelline matte maker and now it is time for Rimmel.The whole packaging is similar to the Rimmel stay matte powder so I went and picked it up for the +clarifying tag. The pan is a screw open one, no mirror or puff. This is ideal to swirl a huge powder brush and go swirl on the face to just set makeup or mattify skin, fine by me.

The color of the pan is so pleasing, and the bold letters it mentions “clear complexion” too. I think there is just one shade, I am sorry girls, I do not know about it in detail but I bought is as a dusting powder and not as a real makeup coverage powder. So I went for this shade which is clearly lighter for me.

The powder is pure matte, now the Maybelline matte maker is almost gritty like a loose powder but this one is not. This is very regular, now I don’t want to put it into the chalky category, but it is just like any other matte powdery compacts,there is nothing satiny about the powder. The powder is not very thick so do not expect any coverage from it. The powder goes on invisible, so this kind of light shade is not much of an issue when you dust it lightly.

I could not smell anything in it.The powder is more of a matiffying one than a powder to cure pimples.It does claim to have “pureskin” technology and it is beyond me when companies make such claims. The powder is fun to use with a powder brush to just mattify skin and set makeup lightly but it is not miraculous. I would say this is smooth to touch but very matte.

Now coming to the claims, I agree to the shine free finish but not for 5 hours, it gives you 2-3 hours max of matte skin, and then my combination skin starts showing up some oil on the more oily areas like above my brows etc. So yes, you would need to pat it on or dust it with a brush. I think this works great and non-patchy even when you pat it with a puff, but that kind of dirties the whole pan, so use a new puff every time. Dry skin can clearly skin it as it would cling to dry patches on the face.

All said and done, if you have like the earlier Stay matte from them, you could try this.
