Our eyes are the window to our soul. Eyes play a very important role in makeup and beauty. Beautiful application of eye makeup. However, subtle it might be is so essential. But even more essential is maintaining the eye area as much as possible. I must confess that my eye area is not perfect at all. And so I have to take the help of makeup. In addition to eye area skin care to maintain it as much as possible. But I would like to add a few tips . Do apply sunscreen around your eyes; and please do not rub your eyes. There are loads of tips already up on IMBB. But these are the two which I absolutely follow… better late than never. I will be reviewing seven eye products in this series. Some are top notch… while some barely scraped the ground. Today, I will be reviewing a beautiful eye shadow shade released by Rimmel London.

My Experience with Rimmel London #100 Rose Gold Idol Eye Shadow Stick by Kate:

I had already used the Scandaleyes shadow stick… in Bad Girl Bronze and Bulletproof Beige…which I will review later. I had a nice experience with these shadow sticks; hence when the Kate Moss collection was launched, I immediately got this shade from the bunch. I must say, I am impressed with this shadow stick.

The shadow stick comes in a thick, black, wooden, sharpenable pencil like stick, covered with a cap. The cap fits to the stick quite firmly, hence no chances of accidents happening during travels. The pencil can be carried around quite easily. Also, the cap and the bottom part of the stick has the shade color as the shade inside, making it easy to recognise from a bunch of shadow sticks.

The texture of the eye shadow is so smooth…it just glides on your eyelids. It is infact, buttery smooth. It does not cause any tugs or pulls during application. It is not so soft as to break during application; and you will need more than a firm hand, to really cause some dent to the tip. It is very creamy, and you may easily use this as a base for other eye shadows. Also, the shadow did not crease on my eyelids, which is wonderful, considering that creamy shadows do tend to crease horribly on my lids.

The shade Rose Gold, is one of the best eye shadow shades I own. It is a beautiful coppery brown shade…with minute micro-shimmer particles. The shimmer is not gross, and seems almost a part of the color. It is not gritty at all; and does not hurt the eyes during application or during removal. It looks most natural on the eyes, and really brightens up the eyes. It is an easy to wear, day time eye makeup must-to-be-had in every kitty.

I have tested the shadow for 10 hours; and it did last on my slightly oily lids (due to eye care cream)…with very slight fading. When I used it with a primer, there was no fading at all for at least 10 hours. It is indeed waterproof and smudge-proof; after about 5-10 minutes of application. Also, this stick can be used as an eyeliner, without hurting the eyes at all. On my lower lash line, it lasted for 4-6 hours, before disappearing.

• Not yet available in India.
• Difficult to be layered on with the same stick.
• Sharpening leads to wastage.

Absolutely yes. This one is a must have in everybody’s makeup kit. If you can lay your hands on it…you have to absolutely get it. It is a nice, hassle free, long lasting eye shadow, which is going to look beautiful on every eye.
