I am back with another review. This time with a lip liner. Rimmel London’s exaggerate range of lip liners received very good reviews on IMBB, so when I came across this range, I had to pick one up. 😛 The shade I will be reviewing today is shade number -024 Red Diva.

Product Description:

Rimmel describes their Exaggerate Full color lip liners as Long Lasting precise contour color. Full Volume Color and definition. Soft texture Fine tipped automatic liner.

Packaging:

It comes in a retractable packing similar to Maybelline colossal kajal. The cap closes with a click making it travel friendly. For hygiene reasons some of you might prefer sharpenable pencil but I like the twist up ones as it means no product wastage.

My experience with Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner – Red Diva:

The shade Red Diva is a lovely blue toned deep red shade and would go well under all your blue toned red lipsticks. The lip liner comes with a slant tip which makes it different from the others. The tip makes it easier to outline and define the contours of the lips. But making very thin lines would be difficult. The liner is very creamy and goes on smoothly over the lips without any tugging or pulling. It is very soft and would break even if the slightest pressure is applied. I broke mine in the second use itself. :’(

The staying power is simply awesome. It stayed on and on and on….for the whole day, literally. When worn under the lipstick, the lipstick faded but the liner was there to stay. On its own, it stayed on me for a whole day (around 8.5 hours) with one full meal and some snacks in between with just slight fading from the center of the lips. I had to remove it with a lip makeup remover at the end of the day. 😀

It is not moisturizing but definitely not drying too. In fact, my dry lips did not feel the need of any lip balm application while this was on. (I generally apply lip balm every couple of hours.) But I have a habit of wearing lip balm before applying any lipstick/lip liner. Dry, flaky lips would need anexfoliation before using this as it would show your chapped lips. When worn on its own, it does transfer a little. Overall, it is a good lip liner with decent price.

Pros of Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner – Red Diva:

– Amazing staying power.
– Not drying on the lips.
– Smooth on lips, goes on without any tugging or pulling.
– The slant tip makes outlining easy.
– Retractable, no sharpening required, less product wastage (might be a con for some!).

Cons of Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner – Red Diva:

– Texture is soft and will break with slightest pressure.
– Transfers a little on its own.
– Will show chapped lips.
