After the launch of Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer, Rimmel has come out with another primer which is now called the Rimmel Fix and Protect Primer. This new primer by Rimmel is supposed to provide 4 benefits for the skin which are – Anti – pollution, Anti – Stress, Protective Shield and Skin Perfecting. While all that sounds quite exciting, I thought about giving this baby a try as I had never used any primers from Rimmel. So, let’s find out how this one fared 🙂

My Experience with Rimmel London Fix and Protect Makeup Primer:
I have never really been enthusiastic about high-end makeup, which might seem weird because I have a huge stash of expensive makeup, but what I mean is that I have always loved drugstore makeup and believe in finding the hidden gems in the drugstore. The main reason that I’ve never been able to fully endorse high-end makeup is because there are good and bad reviews about them too and I need not spend loads of money to find out a high-end product is a dud!
Packaging: The primer comes in a tiny squeez-y tube with a screw cap containing 30 ml of primer. The tube is pink and white in colour which makes it very attractive. It is easy to squeeze out and apply the product and also travel friendly.
Color and Smell: The primer also has a very light fragrance, which I like since I have high-maintenance skin and strong fragrances can aggravate my skin to some extent. Also, the colour of this primer is white but it blends out colourless into the skin and by no means leaves a white cast on the face.
Texture: This primer is white with a creamy consistency that feels like a smooth moisturiser. When it’s applied to the skin, it hasn’t got that silicone feel that some primers have, such as the Maybelline Baby Skin. This primer doesn’t feel like it’s clogging up your pores, but just providing a smoother base for your face makeup to be applied to. This product blends nicely into your skin. I don’t rub it in like a moisturiser but just place it on to my skin and gently spread it out.
Longevity: This primer makes my makeup last on the face well for the whole day. The maximum time that I have tested this primer in one go, is for 11 hours, and it did a fabulous job at it. I do not wear a primer every day, but this one is sure a great product to wear under your makeup if you want it to last for a long time. I am quite impressed with the longevity of this Rimmel primer.
Quality: All I can say is that this primer delivers good value, great quality and results to rival much, much pricier products. My first ever Rimmel primer, and if this one is anything to go by, then it won’t be my last. So to sum everything up, the primer makes the skin look matte, it makes any product you apply on top of the primer last longer, and it is pretty affordable. Sounds like a great primer right? It sure is!

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Rimmel London Fix and Protect Makeup Primer?
I was always impressed with Rimmel shadow liners and lip liners, but I had no idea that they could come out with an awesome primer like this one. I would recommend this product to all you ladies whether you like wearing a primer daily or not. This lightweight primer will sure become your favourite as it is for all skin types. Do give it a try ladies, as for this price it’s sure a value for money product!
