My Falsies mascara was on its last legs when I bought this Rimmel Glam’Eyes Day 2 Night mascara. I was using the tiny samples of No7 mascaras these days when I saw this lovely Rimmel mascara. This of course reminds me of the Colorbar Zoom and Whoosh Mascara. Read on to see how this worked for me 🙂
Rimmel Day 2 Night Mascara, 2 Lash Looks. 1 Mascara. Two dramatically different lash looks, volume and length, all with 1 magic cap! Rimmel London Get The London Look.
My Experience with Rimmel London Glam’Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara:
This mascara comes in such a pretty and jumbo kind of tube. This mascara has a mechanism with the brushes where one cap opens up to a thicker brush which lends volume and if you open the top most cap, it lends length to your lashes with the small thin brush it has. Now this mascara has worked fairly well for me. Mind you, this does not come cheap at all. It has such a cute pink hue to it on the tube, which looks very pretty in my kit. The mascara has a thick brush for volume but I find the product to be a little wet and goopy. It does not look uniform; I wish it were not that wet in consistency. The volume brush works great for me but I have to wait up for it to dry out.
The brush that provides length is thin, I find it great for my bottom lashes. Now, the thing to wonder is that when I use volume first and then the length, I love the results. But if I reverse the method, first length and then volume, the application is clumpy and goopy. Due to the wet formula, you will need to wait till you apply another coat. The magic brush is one, I think the same brush gets another attachment when you open the volume side, the length side opens up with a thicker volume attachment, I may be wrong here. When I open both the caps, there are no two brushes inside, that’s what I observed.
On the down side, the length side alone does not deliver much. The mascara is not waterproof. You can use any makeup remover to get this off without much trouble. The mascara does not curl the lashes at all. Make sure you use the curler before this one.
The best part about this one is that though it may be slightly clumpy, the mascara does not flake and can run for 12 hours straight! Yes, I have worn this for 12 hours and believe me, it was intact without any smudge.
