I was in look out for a good foundation. As my Max Factor Skin Luminizer Foundation started to melt on my skin, I wanted to purchase a good one before the summer heat kicked in. Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation promises a 25H lasting capacity. The foundation comes in 2 variants: one with comfort serum and a plain one. I chose the one with comfort serum for enjoying additional benefits.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation with Comfort Serum comes in a sealed glass bottle packaging. There is a seal on the cap too. The bottle works with a pump mechanism. It has a red cap and a red pump. The cap closes effectively, and thus the product is travel-friendly. The pump is a recent addition, which is great. Here in Netherlands, the foundation comes in 4 shades only. So, it is difficult to choose the right shade for your skin tone. I had to buy two different shades to match my skin tone.

The foundation is thick in texture and has a pleasant fragrance. The product is easy to blend. The foundation blends like a dream. I can use my fingers or my oval brush to apply it on my face. The product is meant to provide a full coverage but, it can be built up for achieving a good coverage, still, not a full one.

However, I prefer a natural coverage, and I like the product for it. The product provides a satiny matte finish, and it makes the skin look hydrated and gives a natural touch. Also, it doesn’t feel heavy on the face. One can set the foundation using a loose powder or can leave it just like that.

I have never waited for 25 hours to check the longevity of the product but, it does stay put on my skin for a good 5-6 hours. However, after 5-6 hours, my T-zone turns a little oily so, I use a blotting paper, and then, the foundation lasts up to 12-13 hours on my face without settling into fine lines or breaking and still, looking good.

The product has to be applied onto well-moisturized skin to prevent dry flakes being popped out. The product also comes with an SPF 20 which is another added benefit. The product doesn’t cause any breakouts or irritation to the skin. The foundation is lightweight but, it oxidises. So, it is always wiser to choose a shade lighter than your skin tone. Also, the product does contain parabens, which is a downside.
