My experience with Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Shade 12:
Shade 12 is part of the 2011 Winter Collection launch. It is my first lipstick from Rimmel. I actually wanted to buy another shade that I saw in a print ad but it wasn’t available. The other striking shade that caught my attention was Shade 12. The lipstick comes in a sleek, black, matte finish plastic packaging; the lid closes with a tight click, so you can easily carry it around in your bag. It looks superchic with Kate’s signature embossed in red color.
Shade 12 is a warm, bright orange, a shade that instantly brightens up the face. The color is really vibrant and will flatter most skin tones. It seems more of spring-summer color. But I don’t mind an orange pout in winters too :D, though for me it’s not an everyday color as I am not a bold-lips person.
The texture is creamy/satiny and feels light on lips. The product description says it has black diamonds infused! I am not sure about that but it does give glossy finish to lips, not high-shine glossy though. It glides beautifully over the lips. The pigmentation is superb and just one swipe is enough to cover my slightly pigmented lips. After few minutes, it sets into a semi-matte finish, which I really like. The lipstick is not drying at all; I never use a lipbalm beneath it and it has never given me dry patch.
In terms of the staying power, I wasn’t expecting much the moment I applied it because of the texture. It stays on the lips for 3-4 hours, with little eating and drinking, which is I think average for a lipstick which is from a lasting finish range. But considering how creamy it is, I can forgive that part. It doesn’t transfer much once it sets, which is a plus again. Another thing that I like about this is that it wears off evenly leaving a coral tint on lips. In the lip swatch, it is giving a hint of pinky coral, but it is an out-and-out orange.
Overall, I really love this lipcolor. If you are looking for a color that screams summer, buy this.

- It makes my teeth look yellowish.
- Staying power is not so impressive.

Would I repurchase Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Shade 12?
I needed one bright orange and I have it now. Buying this particular shade again is a little doubtful, but I would definitely try other shades from this range.
