Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Shade 31 Review

After using the Rimmel London Lasting Finish lipsticks in Shades 05 and 08 and thoroughly enjoying them, I picked up a couple more. Today, I am reviewing the lipstick in Shade 31. Read on to find out more.

My Experience with Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Shade 31:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in a sleek black matte finish packaging. The cap has the Rimmel logo engraved on top and a print of Kate Moss’s signature. The packaging looks quite classy and is sturdy as well. The cap shuts tight and you can easily travel with it in your bag. Since the packaging is completely opaque, you need to look at the bottom of the lipstick to find out which shade it is.

Shade: Shade 31 is such a beautiful shade of red; it is a deep burgundy wine color. This is a shade which will suit all skin tones. However, these type of shades tend to age you a bit. So, you should try this lipstick on if a mature classy look is what you are aiming for ; not an everyday shade for sure.

Texture, Finish, Pigmentation: The lipstick glides effortlessly on the lips. It feels crème when you apply it, but settles down to a semi-matte finish with a nice sheen. I love that the finish does not fall flat like some long lasting matte lipsticks tend to do. I would not call the lipstick hydrating; but it does not dry out your lips either. You do not need to apply any lip balm underneath.

This shade is strongly pigmented and one swipe is enough to give a complete coverage to even pigmented lips. This is not a transfer-proof lipstick and transfers easily on cups and glasses. The product claims to stay put for 8 hours. Unfortunately, the lipstick does not survive full meals and stays on me for only 4 hours or so with snacking. It does leave behind a slight stain.

The lipstick has a slight floral fragrance. I actually like the fragrance but those who like fragrance free lipsticks might consider this a con.

• Claims of 8 hours of staying power is not exactly true.
• This shade tends to age you a bit; not an everyday wear shade.
• Lipstick has a mild floral fragrance.

You can surely try this lipstick if you are looking for an affordable and decent lipstick in a burgundy shade.

Would I Repurchase Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Shade 31?

Since this is not an everyday shade, I will not repurchase the same shade. But I will surely try out other shades from this range.
