My Take on Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipsticks:
I got these lipsticks from Superdrug here in the United Kingdom. They retail for £4.99 (4.2 grams) and are available in more than 20 shades. I have collected these 4 shades in the past one year. They smell of sweet vanilla and are very moisturising. You don’t need to apply a lip balm under it. They stay on the lips for 6 hours even after eating and drinking and do not leave a ghastly white line when they fade.
It is a blue-toned red. It is my first and my favourite red lipstick, but then, I have not tried too many red lipsticks. It suits my skin tone very well.
It is a bright orange-toned red lipstick. I personally feel that you can ONLY wear with only neutral eyes and no blush. I tried it with blusher and ended up looking like a clown. It’s perfect for a pin-up look fresh face, winged liner and this lipstick.
It’s a very wearable nude colour. It has the right amount of shine and does not make me looked washed out like my other nude lipsticks do. It has a tinge of brown to it, but it does not show up too well on my reddish pigmented lips.
Coral in Gold:
True to its name, it’s a coral lipstick with golden glimmer. It suits pale skin tones very well, but I’m not sure if it would compliment darker ones.
Here are the swatches. The packaging of two of the lipsticks is different, maybe because they are newer/older batches, but the product is the same.
Clockwise from Top:
Alarm, Coral in Gold, Retro and Birthday Suit. You can see that CIG and Birthday Suit are similar, but CIG has some gold shimmer in it.
Pros of Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipsticks:
- Smells great.
- Long lasting (5-6 hours).
- A large variety of shades to choose from.
Cons of Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipsticks:
- Nonavailability in India.
- Ingredients not listed.
- Rimmel tests on animals.
I have nothing bad to say about these Rimmel lasting finish lipsticks. They are affordable and don’t dry my lips out. The red lipsticks do not bleed, so it does not require a lip liner. I have never used one under these. Alarm is my favourite red and I will purchase it again when I run out, it’s the lipstick I use most. I am not sure if they are available in India or not, but if you have relatives who are travelling abroad, you might ask them to get you a few of these as they are not too expensive. Let me know if you have tried them and if you share the same views.
