Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick-Funtime Fuchsia
Hi Everyone,
I am back with a lipstick review this time – its for Rimmel’s shade Funtime Fuchsia. I picked this up from a Boots store very impulsively last year, as I usually don’t sport very bright lips. But this one turned out to be a winner! Read on for a more detailed review.
Price:
6 or 7 Euros as far as I remember.
Packaging:
It comes in a vibrant shiny purple metallic case with a fabulous looking crown at the top and I love it! Some might find the metallic case somewhat tacky – but its just my love for purple that makes me adore it. The cap closes shut with a click lock and therefore its very easy to carry.
Texture:
I think Rimmel lipsticks are good value for money in terms of texture. This is lightweight, super smooth and buttery and applies easily. However, because its such a vibrant popping color, it tends to apply slightly patchy initially when you apply the first swipe, but then settles into a smooth and even semi-matte finish. It doesn’t smudge or fade very easily and is not very thick and goopy on the lips.
Shade:
Since I am on the dusky side this color scared me in the tube when I first saw it. It’s a bright popping cool toned fuchsia shade with blue and purple undertones. The purply undertone becomes more visible when you apply at least 3 swipes of the lipstick. But when I applied it on my lips it instantly brightened up my face! The shade is superbly pigmented and I think it will look awesome with pale gold eye makeup or even nice earthy neutral eyes or even a neat winged cat eye. The beauty of this shade is – the more you build the color the ‘purplier’ it gets. But 2 swipes are enough for lovely rosy fuchsia lips and if you don’t want vampy lips. I would have never thought this would look good on dusky skin, but it does! – Makes me wonder if I am warm toned or cool toned – still confused.
Staying power:
It has superb staying power – 5-6 hrs easily with careful eating ;P Even when it fades, it leaves behind a nice pinky stain like seriously bee-stung lips! Oh and it transfers very easily on things, but still due to the deep pigmentation of the color you are left with a lovely bee stung stain on your lips.
Overall verdict:
I completely love this shade for days when I don’t want to use heavy eye makeup but still want my face to look vibrant and fresh. I have tried it with thick kohl on my eyes and it looks just as good.
No cons at all!
IMBB Rating:
4.5/5 taking away .5 because of the initial patchiness when applied.
Highly recommended for people who love bright lip colors and can carry it off with aplomb!
Hope you liked my LOTD – till next time!
Love you guys!Muaaaah!
