Blushes and bronzers are my favourite makeup products. They can easily perk up your dull complexion, make you feel happy and look glowy. If you want to look naturally tanned, no problem, bronzers are here to help. This is the first bronzer I had in my vanity. I wanted something which would give a warm and sun-kissed appearance to my cheeks, but shouldn’t make me look unnaturally dark or orange-y, otherwise my mom would be like, “are you spending too much time in the sun?” 😛 Anyway, let me tell you about this product now.

Product Details:

Rimmel London Natural bronzer is a waterproof bronzing powder with velvet soft texture for a naturally even bronzed look. Wears up to 10 hours. Dematologically tested.

Shades: Sun Light, Sun Bronze, Sun Dance.

My Experience with Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sun Dance:

I have neutral-toned skin. When I first spotted this bronzer, it was available in only two shades, Sun Bronze and Sundance.  I thought Sunlight would anyway suit cool toned skin, but I was extremely confused between these two shades. They both have fine shimmer. I just couldn’t decide due to lack of experience in bronzers and in what shade I should choose. I went with my instinct and bought “Sun Dance.”

Packaging:

It comes in a round plastic pan with transparent cover. Details, shade and ingredients are mentioned on the back. Packaging is okay, just like any other Rimmel powder product.

Shade:

I am glad I got this one. This is a perfect shade for my natural complexion and neutral tone. It doesn’t look orange at all.  In fact, it blends so perfectly into my skin that you will just notice a subtle sheen (not shimmer) on my cheeks, but you won’t see the color at all. I love the shade so much that I would use it for future reference to buy other bronzers.

Formula and Application:

It is a very fine powder with golden shimmer in it. Shimmer particles are very fine and give a glowing appearance to skin. I wear it most often in day time and it looks nice even in day light. I apply it with a large fluffy brush. Fall out is very less and it applies very smoothly on cheeks.

Pigmentation:

Pigmentation is average for a bronzer, but you can easily build up the intensity of the color.  I think it may be because of this particular shade because it matches my skin tone exactly, so color doesn’t show up much. I like it very subtle so for me one or two swipes are good enough.

Staying Power:

Not very good though.  As I said before, the color just blends with my skin and a subtle sheen is noticeable and that sheen soon dissolves into natural oils of my skin and I can’t even notice it after 2 or 3 hours. Very disappointed with staying power.

About its claim of being waterproof, I think it’s overrated. A powder can never be waterproof. It will dissolve or melt off with water or sweat. I can’t imagine what kind of powder can be waterproof, so it’s not waterproof per se. You can’t expect it to be there on your face after washing face or being sweaty. It’s too much to expect.

Conclusion:

Since I am a beginner in using bronzer and contouring products, I like this bronzer.  I can use it again and again to practice and I don’t have to worry about running out of it. Also, I love particularly this shade and I would repurchase it if I had to just because of the shade.

• Nice shade collection.
• Blends into skin easily.
• Fine golden shimmer which gives a sun-kissed bronzed look.
• Price is good for quantity.
• Dermatologically tested.

Cons of Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sun Dance:

• Staying power is not good.
• Less pigmented (may be this particular shade).
• Not waterproof (false claim).
• Packaging is flimsy.
• Won’t suit people with oily skin.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sun Dance?

If you are a beginner like me, you might give it a try because it’s very cheap and you can practice and learn how to put bronzer and how to contour your face with it. If you have very oily skin and live in a hot climate, I won’t suggest this product to you.
