My Experience with Rimmel London Rose Passion Moisture Renew Lipstick :

I am a hoarder for lipsticks which have the word ‘Moisture’ in them, I think most of us are. And thing is that whenever I want to try out a new brand I mostly end up buying a red from their range. I am trying to change this habit now. Anyways, that’s how this color Rose Passion happened.

Let me tell you about this one:

Shade:

This one is deep red with pink undertones, exactly similar to the ‘red roses’ we see. No shimmers just pure red which I love.

Texture is creamy, smooth. On the days my lips are not dry, I don’t feel the need of a lip balm but when I have dry lips, lip balm becomes an absolute necessity as the formula is not very moisturizing.

Scent:

It is mildly perfumed but that vanishes moments after application and is not bothersome.

SPF18 is the reason I bought it. (I got to have at least one red color with SPF, what if I had to wear a red lippie in sun!!!)

Finish is neither completely matte nor glossy, just midway. More like a velvety finish I’d say.

Coverage is full. It goes on completely opaque in a single swipe.; it does not settle in lip lines. It will not bleed or feather.

Pigmentation:

Well, this one is intensely pigmented. One swipe deposits more than 90% of the color and you can build it even more depending upon mood and occasion.

Staying power:

Staying power is very impressive. It stays on for good 5 hours with very minimal fading and graciously survives a heavy meal too (great, right:) ). Even after heavy meal, I found it to be a bit darker than what we call as stain or a tint. So it scored there for me too.

But removing takes a bit of an effort and you have to apply a lip balm afterwards because it does not leave your lips without taking their moisture away. I think they should have been named as Moisture Retract instead of Moisture Renew… seriously This is a color which will suit almost all skin tones. Another perfect party red. Or a wonderful red that you can wear with a little kohl in your eyes and be all set.
