My Experience with Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer:

Why One Needs Primer:
• To reduce appearance of fine lines
• To cover large open pores
• TO act has smooth base to apply makeup
• To ensure makeup lasts longer
• To keep the face shine free

I don’t have any fine lines yet, nor do I have ever suffered from nasty blackheads or huge pimples which could leave behind craters on my face. However, my face gets greasy and shiny as the day progresses and my face appears grimy, and this whole problem is exacerbated by summer. Since this product is good at shine control and makes the makeup last longer, I decided to purchase this product.

Packaging: Product comes in white squeeze tube with purple cap. It delivers a drop of product at a time. The tube looks pretty with a purple crown drawn on it.

Texture: The drop looks like regular moisturizer, however, it is easier to blend compared to a moisturizer and it contains silica which gives a smooth finish. After blending, the face appears shiny for a while, but after a minute or so, skin turns matte and gives a smooth finish.

Efficacy: I didn’t notice any obvious changes in the topography of my skin – whatever few lines I do have, did not vanish and it’s conclusive to say that it might not work so great on open pores as well. But, then again, I can’t be sure since that’s not what I was looking a primer for. But, others who do want a primer for the above mentioned purpose, must do a patch test before purchasing it.

Did it give a matt finish? Yes sir! It did. My skin felt very soft and smooth and it was easier to blend my base makeup too.

Wear Time: My face was shine free for 7-8 hours after which I had to blot my face with a tissue or use a pressed powder, but it was definitely not as greasy as it usually gets. This primer increases the wear time of my makeup in general and products such as my blush and bronzer stay put for longer duration.
