My Experience with Rimmel London Finishing Touch Ultra Shine Top Coat:
This nail paint comes in a pretty jumbo glass bottle with a white cap. It has a very nice, flat, large applicator brush that has a good density of bristles. Owing to its big flat size, it covers my whole nail at once. It goes on smoothly on the nails and picks up a good amount of the product. So there is no mess during the application and it does not affect the actual nail paint either. I like the overall packaging. It is also decently priced.
It is a clear shiny nail paint. It doesn’t have any shimmer or any other particles in it. So it’s a perfect clear top coat nail paint. One coat covers up my nails nicely. It has a nice thin watery texture that spreads smoothly on the nails. It evenly spreads on my nails and it dries out so quickly – almost within 20-30 seconds. That is really amazing! I always love to use this on those nail paints that take a lot of time to dry. This coat helps to dry out those nail paints quicker.
This coat adds a nice glossy finish to my nails and it provides a healthy shine too. It looks so pretty and the texture is so smooth that it adds a pro finish to my nails. The shine looks so nice and it is enough for dull nail paints. But it is not like a 3D shine or ultra shine, as they claim. It is just a glossy, shiny finish. I need two to more coats for a better shine. It helps to enhance the nail colour and brighten up the colour. I can also use it as a normal nail paint.
According to its claim, it is not only a top coat, it also protects nails from chipping and it helps my nail colour last longer. I have taken that 10-days no chip resistance challenge and it does its job quite well. I applied it on my nails and even after 10 days my nails looked quite ok. The nail color from my toes had chipped, though. The nail color stayed better on my fingers. I have tried this on my mom’s nails too and it kept the color intact for around a week. So, the staying power depends on your lifestyle too.
The shine looks faded after a few days; it stays perfectly for around 4-5 days and, after that, the shine decreases day by day. Overall, the shine stays for around a week. So, the 10-day claim is not so true. Still, I like the product.
