Rimmel Moisture Review Lipstick – Let’s Get Naked

Hi Beauties,

Isn’t the name extremely catchy…..People are bound to have at least a look at this lipstick on hearing the shade name. When I started writing this review, I did not know that I would end up so confused. Rimmel has launched 12 new shades in their New Moisture Renew line as well as revamped a few of their previous moisture renew lip colors. These were introduced last autumn in UK, USA and maybe a few more western countries(but not in India???). During my short holiday, I got a call from a friend of mine who lives in the States, and we got talking….and ended up with cosmetics(you know how we ladies are!!!).

I had already purchased 2 Rimmel lipsticks which were both bold colors, and she started saying that she will get a n*de one for me which is one of her favorites. The voice was cracking…and I only heard the words “Let’s Get Naked”….and I actually thought she must be off her mind. Before I could say NO (since I do not like n*des a lot), the line got cut, and the next thing I know, she had purchased this shade for me. The weird thing I found was that, this lipstick has a different packaging in UK and US. Also, though the shade name is same, the shade numbers are totally different. Also, the pricing is weird {These have been priced around 7 GBP in UK (Rs 650-700/-); and around 7USD( Rs 450-500/-) in the States}….weird, huh!!! I wonder when these will be launched in India, and what other changes will they make to these lippies. Hence, I have started this review by writing no shade number in the title…since they seem to vary in different countries (though the actual color is same…Thank God!!!!).

My experience with Rimmel Moisture Review Lipstick – Let’s Get Naked:

First of all, I want to say that this shade is an extreme MLBB shade for non pigmented lips….I mean, on Indian skin tones, it may not show up on the lips at all, unless swiped many times. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, the decision is yours.

The lipstick comes in a simple purple color casing (you may see the difference in packaging compared to my previous review of Diva Red). The cap closes with a reassuring click…so no chances of mishaps happening.

The lip color is a pale peachy pink color, and may show up different on different skin tones. For fair skin, it will show up a nice pale beige color, for the medium tones, it will be MLBB shade or no color at all, and for darker skin tones, it may totally wash them out. Better check them first before purchasing. The fragrance is same as BOROLINE, and has a nice lip balmy type texture

The lipstick is buttery soft, and seems to just glide on the lips, leaving a very pretty pale peachy pink shade, which may or may not show up on your lips. It covers the lip lines well, and will moisturise the lips as long as it stays. Longevity wise, it will stay longer, for 4-5 hours, without major meals, before reapplication is needed. You may prolong the wear a little bit more by wearing a lipliner first. Sine it is a pale nude, it will be an excellent choice if you want to tone down the color of any bold lipstick. The color looks good on my lips in a subtle way, and will be good choice for day wear if it suits you.

The lipstick may melt, so please keep it in a cool place. It will not feather or bleed at all, but may smudge, and will definitely transfer. This one fades evenly, unlike Diva red, Especially if you have applied a lip liner first. It is not shiny, shimmery, frosty or matte. It is definitely moisturizing, and leaves a lovely sheen on the lips. This can be used instead of a lip balm too, without the added shininess which a lip balm leaves.

Will I repurchase Rimmel Moisture Review Lipstick – Let’s Get Naked?

I did not purchase it, it was a gift…and I do not have any wish to purchase it myself also (only since I am not very fond of nudes). But it’s a very very pretty shade in general.

Will I recommend Rimmel Moisture Review Lipstick – Let’s Get Naked?

Yes, but not to people with a darker skin tone, as it may wash you out. It is a very good, moisturizing, day wear n*de lipstick. This will also go extremely well with a smoky eye, if you can carry it off.
