I was just browsing through various websites to know more about the brands and their partner companies and I found this legal FDA website, that can be a lot of interest to all IMBB readers.
It tells the details about safe/unsafe cosmetics, and what goes into them.

Also within the above mentioned page, I found a link to the website that gives the information about the cosmetic brands that have signed the “Safe Compact”. (http://safecosmetics.org/index), which details more on FDA regulations, cosmetic brands and other necessary details about the ingredients used. According to this FDA approved website:
“Since 2004, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has coordinated the Compact for Safe Cosmetics, a voluntary pledge of safety and transparency. In the course of six years, more than 1,500 companies signed the Compact.
As of January 2011, we are phasing out the Compact. We continue to work closely with existing Compact signers to develop new ways that manufacturers of personal care products can engage with the Campaign around shared values of product safety and ingredient transparency.
As we transition between the Compact and a new company engagement tool, we hope to help as many companies as possible reach compliance with the Compact. When the Compact officially closes in summer 2011, consumers will be able to search for compliant signers via the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Web site and EWG’s Skin Deep database”

Sonam….yeah Vov….and you know there are other lesser know korean brands……with strange xianuan zing kind of names that sell lipsticks for 15 rupees and 30 rupees and so many girls are buying those…..I have alerted a whole lot of females about not buying them……but small girls studying do not hesitate :sick:

Avon has seems to be quite a “safe cosmetics” company Jinal…most of their products get pretty good listings on sites that deal with ingedient toxicity, and I thought it was quite nice that an affordably priced brand ensures that it uses safe ingredients 🙂 🙂 🙂

here is a test that you can do it yourself at home to check for lead…
1. Put some lipstick on your hand,
2. Use a 24k-14k Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick color changes to Black color; it means this lipstick has Lead.

Its a wrong test Shaniia..I shared a link here long time back that its a hoax!! :(( There is no way you can figure out the lead content in lipstick unless you let it go through lab test!!!

yeah bulbul!! We just follow the marketing strategies of these companies and fall for them…but there are many unknown brands around the world that are amazingly awesome, but fall back just coz they don’t use the marketing gimmicks like others do!! thank you!! :))
