Sally Hansen 18 Hour Protective Hand Creme – Paraben-Free But Average Hand Cream

Hello lovely IMBBians!

The chills of winters are rising up and above every day, early mornings are meant to snuggle down under the cozy blanket. Winters are dull, lazy and depressing. It also takes a toll on our skin and hair; it’s the nature’s way of telling to pamper them, or that’s how I put it 😛  So coming to today’s review, I have a very fabulous hand crème from Sally Hansen.  It claims to protect hands for a duration of 18 hours 😉

My Take on Sally Hansen 18 Hour Protective Hand Creme:

Our hands go through a lot and are also neglected to a large extent, hence they need to be taken care of; especially during winters when the skin tends to dry. This hand creme claims to protect hands for a period of 18 hours, let’s see if that’s true or not. The packaging is simple – the product comes in an orange colored tube with a sturdy white cap that clicks shut. It is travel friendly but not a space saver since it’s bulky. It’s hygienic since it comes in a non-fussy tube form.

Sally Hansen products are always known to work wonders, so I had my hopes high on this one, but I have mixed opinions about this creme. The product is a white-colored crème, which has a very soothing aroma, which I happen to like. The fragrance is not too bothersome, sensitive noses need to sniff it before getting the creme.  The texture is neither light nor too heavy, just in-between. I did feel it is slightly greasy, and my hands felt slippery after application. I don’t use this during day due to the slight greasiness, things keep slipping off my hands 😀 I did notice a bit of sweating; it may vary from person to person.

It claims to act as an “invisible glove,” and I took that very seriously. But the product survived at most two washes sans soap, which is not bad according to me. I noticed that it left my hands moisturized even thought the product got washed away. I use this for cuticles as well as feet, since they suggest it can be used elsewhere too and the results are satisfactory. I have extremely dry cuticles and feet and this creme has helped to control the dryness; not make it vanish though.

I restrict the usage during bed time only.  Also, I have noticed that the aroma lingers and I could still feel the crème on my hands as I wake up in the morning. I do not wear gloves or anything, though I think it may give better results with gloves. It does make the skin feel soft and supple, that lasts for a while, but the 18-hour claim is a bit exaggerated and the hand creme doesn’t live up to it.  There are no parabens, and the ingredients are amazing. The price is slightly exorbitant, but overall it is a good product. There are other budget-friendly options out there too as this product did not work “wonders” on me.  Anyhow, this hand crème gets a green signal from me!

Would I Recommend Sally Hansen 18 Hour Protective Hand Creme?

I would recommend this one, overall a good product but on the expensive side. I will not repurchase this; after it gets over, I will lurk around looking for other brands out there.  I don’t have many issues with this one, with absence of parabens and a good ingredients list, it can be given a shot.
